Title: Texas Hog and Javelina Hunt
Post by: FEIK77 on June 28, 2009, 08:30:00 PM
Hi, my Dad and I are thinking about possibly going on a hog and javelina hunt in Texas. I was wondering which ranches everybody has had good luck hunting on.

                        Thanks,
                           Garrett Feik

Garrett, Get a hold of Curtis Keller at 7th Age Bowhunting on the sponsors list. He's a wonderful guy and will do all he can do to give you and dad a first class hunt....

You won't regret it!

Curtis is the man with the plan.  I just hunted with him recently and shot 2 nice boars.

Along with Steel and others, we will hunt Javs/Hogs near Midland, TX aroung New Years.  A few spots left, so if you are looking for a great way to reign in the new year, c'mon and get it while the gettings good.

I to will be with Buckster and Steel on the Javi/hog hunt the first week of January.  Dad and I met Buckster down in S.Texas last month to hunt hogs with Curtis and it was a blast!  I hope to be a multi-repeat customer for many many years to come Lord and life willing.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys! I'm very happy to have so many satisfied clients. Here's a list of scheduled hunts beginning at the first of the new year. This is the new ranch and it is loaded with game. It's a big enough place that I'd never be able to see the whole place in a months time. It's BIG!

There are about 25 water holes throughout the ranch and numerous feeders running. The first part of the January hunt is booked pretty solid right now. The latter part of the hunt still has openings. Remember, This isn't like hunts on smaller(less than 10,000 acres) ranches where all the animals are spooked by the first hunt leaving the second and third group without animals. This place is huge and I'll be rotating pastures(5-12,ooo acres)between hunts. No worries about pressured animals on these hunts!         Only 10 hunters on the ranch at any given time. Most hunters have affiliation to Tradgang. I suppose you could call all these hunts Tradgang hunts. Hope to see yall there. CK- cacjck@yahoo.com

Jim, I'm not a golfer, but if my math is correct thats over 11K for 3 people.  I'm sure others will jump in, though.  They better hurry though...ITS ONLY 194 DAYS AWAY!!

I haven't been this excited since my girlfriend fried me up a mess of chicken gizzards for my birthday!!

I have hunted with Curtis so many times now I've lost track! Twice this year so far and if I can figure out how to make that three times I'll be headed south. Can't go wrong with Curtis! First time guys just make sure you listen and follow his advice, he knows hogs like nobody else.

RC..I can't do livers, man! I've tried to choke em down, but they can't get past my tongue.  In fact, I can't hold down anything that filters blood or has poop running thru it. I've even tried fooling my gullet by coating them with hotsauce, but my stomach just knows better!  But, gizzards? Yall can have the rest of the chicken..leave me the gizz!

My Pappy always said, "Poop is clean until it hits the ground!" But that was normally when I was in the lot and he was leaning on the fence watching.

Ha!  Well, until Rachel Ray fries it up and rolls it in powdered sugar to make it look like a funnel cake, its always gonna be dirty ol poop to me!

Guys, There's more guys coming than are posting here. If you wish you can post on Sponsor Classifieds. Maybe all attendees will post to show who is coming. You guys can kick around sharing rental vehicles, pick a night to cook, etc...I'll try and post a list of received deposits and dates soon. Thanks for all your business. I appreciate it!

Dave, thanks for the supportive words. I wish we could get you down here more often as well. My hog herds need time to recover after your visits though. It's probably good that you go home occasionally. At least I get to keep a few live hogs.  :p   :bigsmyl:     CK

I guess I'll start one here in powwow.
