If I wanted to get my Pearson riser tapped for my Great Northern quick detach where would I get the hardware? Also anything I should consider before doing so?
It looks like my Black Widow won't be here until just before my first hunt of the year so the Pearson is getting the call unless something unexpected happens.
I'd hate to buy a strap on unless I have to as I already have this GN ready to go on my Widow as soon as she gets here.
FYI it is a Ben Pearson Mach One 52" recurve.

I mounted my Kwickee mount on my Red Wing Hunter 52" as high on the riser as it would go without the mount going outside the lines of the bow. It should be before the fade outs of course. The other thing is to be sure it's straight up and down, which sometimes is easy if you have some wood strips to follow. I put a square on the string and marked the equal distance of the 2 holes that way. Are you going to glue in the taps?

I figured I would have to glue them in as well.
I just checked that riser and the most I can from center of one to the other is 6", putting the bottom of the foam only 8" from the grippers.
I will have to look at how that holds the arrows. I am backpackhunting and will be about 8-10 miles back come the opener, I don't want to have a weak or caddy-whompus setup because I was too cheap to buy a $60 strap-on quiver.

JMO, drilled risers (especially aftermarket) devalue a bow. There are many options otherwise.., side/hip quiver, backquiver, pocket quiver, etc. Get a 3" pvc tube, line it, add a strap, & there you go at least until your BW gets here.
I just used the kit that 3 rivers sells and it worked well. Just drill straight and not too deep. It was pretty easy, but I used an older bow that I wasn't worrying about the value and I am just going to use for bowfishing.
This is an older bow and monetary value is not a consideration, however its usefulness for a hunting weapon on a backpack hunt is of paramount importance.
I don't want to tap it and then realize the cover and grippers are so close together that it is not rock solid, especially since compared to the time and such involved in a hunt a strap on quiver is only $60, cheap if it is the wise decision.
I have tried hip, back and the like quivers for hunting and found them more fuss than worth for spot and stalk hunting.
