Title: Recomended arrow weight for Hill Longbow
Post by: swampthing on June 22, 2009, 12:46:00 PM
What is the recomended GPP arrow weight for Hill bows? I know heavy is the concensus, that is a very subjective term though. At which point do you get negative returns for you added weight.
10-11gpp... or would 11-12gpp be more appropriate.
29" draw 68" Hill. Any and all insight is appreciated.

I have found the trajectory to remain fairly close between 10-12 gpp. Once I got over 12 gpp it started to fall of at a more rapid rate. My draw is only 26.5" so your experience may be different with your long draw. I think 11-12 is about the best overall and I would make my choice based upon the game I intended to hunt, and what worked best for my eye at the ranges I intended to shoot as long as I can get them all to tune. Gpp means nothing unless the arrows are flying true!
