Title: A&H Risers
Post by: stabow on June 21, 2009, 02:21:00 PM
Was at a shoot Saturday saw a fellow shooting an A&H long bow, first time seeing one of these he would have let me shoot it but it was R handed and I'm left. Was on their web site and my question is on their risers, whets the difference between the 14 and 16 inch riser other than 2''?......stabow

If you are thinking of geeting one you need to try and shoot one. I shot one with a med. grip and didnt like it. I bought mine in the JK low grip and i love it. Great bows and great costumer service.

Boyd, I have the 14" riser and absolutely love it!  I would like to try the 16" standard as well as the 16" RC riser someday. but I cannot imagine that I could shoot them any better than I do now. You may like the extra weight of the larger riser, and I've heard that the 16" riser cuts down on some of the arm slap some feel with the 14"

The 14" riser gave me a nice scar on my hand from my feathers hitting my hand. 16" is a much better produce. I liked the 14", I love the 16".

Well I have one on the way; they had one in stock got the 14'' JK low wrist grip in bocote, limbs are 66'' 43 # @ 28. I figured the low wrist would be closer to my straight grip Hills......stabow

I have a lefty 14" riser, COCOBOLO.  Still looking for some limbs 60-62" in high 40's to low 50's.

Some people have trouble shooting the 14inch riser. The grip is small and low. I shoot mine with a high straight wrist style. It seems to totally eliminate torque. It is very accurate and fun to shoot this way. Gary
