Title: ? about Pronghorn hunting in S.E. Colorado
Post by: rice on June 16, 2009, 09:39:00 AM
I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with hunting Pronghorn In S.E Colorado.
I am thinking of trying to hunt the comanche National grassland North of the Oklahoma border in late August.
If you have hunted it, are their lots of hunters. Would I have problems finding water holes that didn't already have blinds on them?
Chances of getting an antelope?
Any information you might have would be appreciated.

I drove around that area about 12 years ago after our first spot didn't pan out.  We were able to locate a good spot here and there but not enough waterholes to base a hunt on for three of us.  I think with some work and luck you could do just fine especially if you have time to drive out and scout in advance.

Thanks Steve. I know its not an antelope Mecca, but would be a quick easy trip for me. The wildlife divisions harvest survey for archers is pretty low, but thought it might be worth a shot.
