I have a #55 @27 PSAII on order, and am planning on going with a 559gr or so arrow. Besides that, and the installed widow string silencers what should I consider to make this thing mouse fart quiet, without taking the swagger out of this bow's bark?
How about the calf hair string groove thingy's?
Different string silencers?
FYI this will be a straight hunting bow, it is going into the CA wilderness just a few weeks after it is delivered and then will be in the local mtns until it puts me in the ground.
thanks guys
Make sure your brace height is perfect. That will go a long way in silencing your bow. i added some bowhush to my strings and use 2 sets of the widow silencers. Works well for my PMAX. Good luck

I had a SAIII and it was loud and obnoxious. I had to try different string materials to finally get it to where it was tolerable. Ended up selling it do to its bad manners. I'm sure the newer bows are quieter but my point is try three different string materials. You will be amazed at the difference in the noise levels.
I used Bow Hush and Hush puppies with a padded loop D97 on a Widow SAV and I would get comments on how quiet it was.Great products,I use Bow Hush on all my recurves I've had.
Calf hair silencers will help a lot. you can also wrap wool or yarn around the neck of the string. I use beaver fur on my strings. If you want lightest fastest quietest silencers then use the quiviuts (muck ox fur). 3 rivers sells them.
My PSAV 62" was louder then sin when I first got my hands on it. First thing was played with my brace height started at 7 1/4" and kept going up little by little until I found the sweet spot...went a little past and brought it back down to 8 3/4" That made a world of difference.
Then went to a 9 strand FF string with ends padded out...wrapped the ends with a bit of yarn for some cushion. Then double silencers at 1/3 and 1/4...1/4 points got JAX 1/3 points got beaver fur. That thing is scary quiet right now!
Just hear a tiny thud and thats in between my house and my barn where its ambilified...hopefully this weekend I'll have some video of me shooting out in the open to hear how quiet it really is and to check on form.
