What is the best reflex deflex bow out there??
Short hybrid longbow - Kanati
Classic longbow mild reflex deflex - Mohawk
Takedown longbow - Hummingbird Kingfisher
What length bow were you thinking about? What is it's intended use, hunting in thick stuff, just shooting,3D,tree stands and blinds? I might suggest a different bow for each or one that could do a little of all. Also what is your draw length and price limit?
What Dave said!
Eric
Best bang for the buck = Kanati.
I also agree with Dave though. You need to find the best for YOU.
I have to throw in a bid for you to check out JD Berry . James makes an awsome bow!!!
Just another for your consideration. The best bow is one that fits you the best.

As Dave mentioned, "favorite" is subjective and you'll likely change in your preferences over time.
I just bought a 64" GN Critter Gitter with the Jack Knife takedown system. I'm not sure that I've ever had a more simple bombproof hunting bow that is also that packable. It shoots purty good too, even for me. Throw a GN LB quiver and it's a light and super compact system that is basically unbreakable.
I have a 64" Griffin and a 60" Shrew that are also great and a bit quicker than the milder Critter Gitter. All are great bows and after the "new bow" fever wears off on the GN, they'll likely all be favorites again.
I have a Marriah Chinook that is absolutely awsome
Find what works for you. try and find a show or some local guys that may have bows that interest you. Try before you buy, Ed
!!! MOST IMPORTANT !!!!
there is NO such thing as a "best bow".
there is only the bow that works "better" for you.
you will never find your better bow unless YOU shoot as many bows as possible.
GOOD LUCK!
what Rob said! :archer:
I havent shot as many as alot you guys but I sure like Roy Hall's Navaho sticks.
Dan Toelke has made me 4 "Whips", all 62" at my 29 1/2" draw. Each has been superbly crafted of beautiful woods and they have it all, smooth drawing, stable & forgiving with ZERO handshock. Like me, they love heavy arrows and unlike me are quieter than quiet! While I am a shameless Dan Toelke fan, I can honestly say that other shooter's comments and assesments of my bows have validated my opinions over and over again. Check out Dan's site at www.montanabows.com (http://www.montanabows.com) and contact him, you will find him the easiest guy in the world to deal with & incredibly knowledgable about all things Archery.
I love my ACS!
I've owned and shot alot of longbows. My personal favorite is a Turkey Creek. Mike Treadway makes a good bow too. A couple I'd like to try are - Holm-Made Osprey and a Whippen Stick. Hopefully I'll run into a Holm-Made at Coon Rapids next weekend.
edit: I should have mentioned 21st Century Long bows also. Excellent shooters.
My current fav is ACS-the only bows I have shot seriously for several years. The top bows are really good and 'best' is purely a personal preference thing.
My vote would have to go to John Mc Collough and his Griffin hi-breds....They just don't get any better [probably why it takes so long to get a new one :wavey:
Lots of good bows out there. I prefer Pronghorns.
another vote for Turkey Creek...
Oscar-Eleven: I agree Treadway bows are great...I have three and they all shoot terrific!
I agree with those who have advised that the best bow is only determined by you and your shooting style/preferences relative to bow design. There are so many truly wonderful bows out there today and in terms of the reflex-deflex sticks...well, suffice it to say that we have entered the Golden Age.
Try to attend some shoots and test drive a few bows. You are sure to find the perfect match for you.

"BEST" I couldn't tell ya I've only had about 20 in the last 3 years but recently I've been shootin a Buffalo Bow by Big Jim on here & does she ever shoot !! Good Luck ...
Big Jim's Buffalo Bows! he makes a great custom bow at a very reasonable price. he can build the bow to any likings you may have--grip, riser, wood combos, etc. look him up.
others have named very nice bows, but you just cant beat the price of Big Jims bows--and they are truly custom built. you really need to look him up.
i have shot bows--not owned!--but shot bows that were in excess of $1000 and some that were way less, and to tell you the difference none of them shoot as good as the "home-brew" bow i got from a local guy. so that tells me there is no perfect bow. you get one that fits YOU and you work with that.
I love my Dryad Orion! It's a great looking bow at a hard to beat price.
you wont be dissapointed with a kanati!!!
As stated many times in above posts, the "best" one for you will not be the best one for the next guy. My favorites are Bob Sarrels bows. I own several of his models and my current "bests" are my TD Bobcatt recurve and TD Blueridge Longbow.

listen up to claudia, folks - she is a voice of true reason.
archery tackle is one thing. most gear is gonna be way better than we all are. the rest is up to the confidence you have in yer tackle, your consistent accuracy during hunting conditions, knowing yer effective kill range, employing razor sharp trad broadheads, and having the proper hunting skills for the game you seek.
tackle is a relatively small part of the overall hunting experience, particularly during these dayze, this Golden Era of traditional bowhunting.
but yes, beautiful bows and arrows are, in my mind, works of art.
Come on - everybody knows it's all the bow's fault. Every now and then my bow is almost as good as me and it sends an arrow right to the spot I picked. Then the damn mule-headed bow loses the spirit of team work and sends the arrow to some spot it picked on its own.
I have to shake it, threaten to string it over my knee, and give it a harsh look before it will cooperate again and send the arrow to the spot I picked.
It must be the fault of the tackle!

21st Century
J D Berry, James has been building for 30 years now.
Lots of great bows.
My 2 favorites are:
1.) Acadian Woods Tree Stick
2.) Great Northern Critter Gitter Special

You will find there as as mny opinions as there are bows. I have tried several in the last couple of years. Ranging from high end customs to off the shelf production bows. The one bow that I keep shooting and shoot the best, believe it or not, is my Bear Montana. I re-worked the grip and took the tips down and I shoot this bow better than any of the others that I have spent triple the money on. It has been a long road but I found the bow that I shoot the best, but that is just me.
Cant beat JD whiperstik bow or Big jim bows.
