Title: Left clavicle irritation
Post by: TheFatboy on June 09, 2009, 11:19:00 AM
G'day fellows,

gonna try to explain this as good as I can... when drawing a heavy bow, my left clavicle (bow arm clavicle) is - of course - compressed. The first few weeks of shooting my new bow, I haven't felt anything, and now, my upper pectoral fibres are irritated by the compression of my shoulder, when I push the bow away.

I suspect that it's because of the sudden shift from a 30# bow to a 70# bow. But I haven't felt any irritation until the end of last week. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

30-70 is quite a jump and would cause no end of problems for most folks. The fact that it showed up after 3 weeks just means muscle and joint fatigue set in. My guess is you need something more moderate-good excuse for a new 50#!

I actually don't think it's the poundage itself, but quite possibly the fact that I haven't always taken a days break between shooting.

I'm a strong guy with thick, solid bones  :)  - I think a break is a good idea though. What I was basically wanting to hear, was, if anyone else ever tried anything similar?
