One Piece Slammer OR 3 Piece Take Down?
Opinions Please !!!!
I have a one piece and have shot his 3 piece, and I think it may hinge on your preference between a 1 or 3 piece bow in general. They are both great bows, I like the lighter 1 piece, the look, feel etc. The 3 piece I still may buy myself, for the extra weight and maybe get 2 sets of linbs. Either bow is nice just a little different.
really like my slammer
You cant go wrong with one of Leons bows,I have a one piece that shoot fantastic. But then again I think all 3 piece longbows are butt ugly.
I almost agree with hvyhitter. It's clearly right that you can't go wrong with one of Leon's bows. It's also true that in general a three piece isn't quite as graceful looking as a one piece. I have two of Leon's three piece takedowns. however, and while admittedly it's only my opinion, they are not butt ugly.
It's also possible that all that proves is that Kurt Vonnegut was right and "all tastes are tastes."
Leaning towards a one piece also with a checkered grip.
Bow zen,
Big difference will be in the mass weight of the three piece. Both are Bomb proof and have a great grip. 99% of both that leon makes have a leather grip. You might want to shoot both before you make a decision on the checkered grip. His leather grip is outstanding and very comfortable to shoot in either bow. The bow is outstanding in performance and shootability. tom
hey Zen
i have a 65lb. one piece that hits like a truck
and a friend that just pick up a 3 piece t/d at the Baltimore shoot that also hits hard!
his is 60lbs good mass weight very stable in the hand and its a head turner!
Three piece slammer- little more mass helps me shoot better and I love the portability of the three piece. The slammers are just great bows.
Bowzen,
I have a Stewart 1-pc., 66" and a Stewart 3-pc., 64". Both are outstanding bows, smooth draw, no hand shock, quiet and quick shooters. They're both about the same draw weight (48 & 49). My arrow groups with the 3-pc. are generally a little tighter than the 1-pc. (probably because of the mass weight). The 1-pc. is quieter.... my hunting bow.
I ordered one!!! with an odd length- 63" single piece slammer at 53# @28". Any advice on the length I selected? Leon thought it be no problem. I still have time to change my mind, so if any one has any advice....I'm listening.
Follow your bliss. :D
