Wow- My wife just got her new bow over the memorial day weekend shoot at the ITBS rondy at Ames IA. dawn and myself sat down with Vince from lonesome Wind Longbows and picked out what she wanted. which turned out to be mostly bocote. Vince said he would dress it up for her. It is a 58" three piece takedown with horn knobs curly maple accents and red accent stripes in just the right places. He hit weight right on spot for her 40# @ 26" It spits an arrow like a light beam. :bigsmyl: This bow was built for her to hunt out west and named accordingly "western Dream" after seeing it I told vince that it should have been named "Bocote overload" she shoots it great and the animals will now have to live in fear when she steps into the woods. I have tried to post pictures in teh past with no luck, :banghead: So I have contacted vince to post them for me when he gets back from his shoot today
Congrats David! Sounds like your wife got a great bow and you have a great lady!
My family and I was at the ITBS shoot. What a great time! We try to make it up there every year. It is a very good shoot and we really apprecicate all the great vendors that take the time to make this shoot.
Now get those pictures! LOL!
Great! Can't wait to see the pics!

I enjoyed building this bow for Dawn, the Bacote overload just kinda happened. I was looking for some Bacote to build her bow & came accross this outstanding piece that was enough to make both the handle and the limb veeners.

I spliced Bacote into Quilted Maple for the wedges & did an hourglass Maple/ Bacote for the limb overlays, the shed antler limb bolts just capped it off

Sorry for that ugly guy gettin' in that last pic but my wife didn't want to pull back a bow of that weight so you're stuck with me.
No money changed hands for this bow, Dave built me a couple of knives, & I built Dawn a bow, good trade IMHO.
I hope Dawn enjoy's her bow and get's the chance to take the animal of her lifetime!
SWEET looking bow!!! :clapper: :clapper:
