FYI: The Colorado DOW just posted the 2009 elk license draw results on their website :clapper: 10 days early.
Once again I am unsuccessful. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like over-the-counter for me this year also. bobby
I drew a tag.Not a trophy unit but I have hunted this unit before and always see some nice bulls.
Got mine too. I am lucky in that I have access through a gated access. Beyond the private land is lots of public. There are other ways to enter but it helps coming in from the gated side. The elk get used to the hunting coming on from the open side. At least thats my take on it.
Some nice bulls there too..
Sorry for the wind- pretty psyched.

It took 4 years Dave, but I finally drew a pretty good unit this time in a wilderness area. My buddy Mike Mitten pointed me in the right direction last year where we could do a DIY hunt in an OTC unit. Doing a drop camp hunt this year.
No sheep, moose, antelope or elk for me. Hopefully deer.
Tique , Bamboo , Southpawshooter, and myself are in !!!! :bigsmyl:
No elk for me, but now I have 9 points...what to do, what to do, what to do...
No Sheep,No Goat,No Moose, I applied for a prefrence point only for Elk will probably go over the counter or in a under subscribed area.
Should draw an Eastern Plains Deer tag.
Preference point only so I'm leaving tomorrow to look over 2 OTC units. One of these I hunted until '06 so I'm going back to an old haunt...... leaving the San Juans, they've gotten too crowded,IMO.
YIPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Elk in September, just awesome!
any interest in a CO tradgang OTC hunt?
