Just got my Bowhunter mag the August issue. Just did a quick flip through and thought hey I know that face from somewhere. Looking forward to reading it tonight after work. Good job Curt!! Joe
Just read the story nicely told!! Great pics to accompany it, the posed hero shots are great and the field pic with the turkeys is very unique. Everyone should give it a look. Curt is this your first article? I'm new to trad (about 2 years) so I'm still getting familiar with all the faces and names. Also is it just me or is Bowhunter giving a lot more coverage to trad over the last year or so. Joe
Good stuff, Curt! I'll have to pop-in to the news agent here and see if they have one. They usually have a couple of US wheelie bow (mostly) magazines. The bigger the magazine, the tougher it is to get a story in, so well-done!
Thanx guys.....No it's not my first published, but it is my first in Bowhunter Mag....others have been in Trad. Bowhunter Mag....
There's a story of the whole hunt in the "Memorable Hunts" forum....
There's also a great article by TG'er Bryce Lambley about a buck he killed last year....good stuff! He's a much better writer than I'll ever be :notworthy:
Congrats Curt, thats great! I should be getting mine in the mail sometime soon.
Congratulations Curt!
I think it's great that you submitted to Bowhunter Mag. That publication takes a lot of flak in traditional circles because of its focus on the high tech segment. But realistically, if we hope the masses will be exposed to the traditional side of things we need articles like that in their magazines.
Good job!
I've read a few of Bryce's articles, he is a very good writer!! Looks like the school teacher and the Pronghorn strike again!! This fella knows how to get it done. I believe that is the buck in his avatar. Especially like the line about, "perfume chasing hours." Bryce did you have any luck with your daughters last year? I'm looking into ladder stands for the first time this year to bring my 5 year olds along a few times this year. Good job again guys  Joe
Way to go Curt.
Jack
Congrats Curt. Great story.
Steve
I think it's great they published your article, way to go.
Congratultions, Curt! Great story & photos. I hope this is the second of many, in a very long writing career. Way to go!
Nice read Curt! The pic with the downed deer and turkeys around it is really cool. Well done.
Cool! Looks like I need to got to Walmart after all!
Nice job Curt and Bryce! I also saw the face of another Tradganger, Pete Iacavazzi in Curt's article. Some say they don't like Bowhunter Mag because there's too much high tech stuff, but then again I see the likes of these guys to balance things and help shape other's opinions. I like that! Mike
Curt,
Nice going on the article.I sent one a while back in hopes it would get put into print.I hope it makes the grade.
Keep up the good work.
Thanx fellas :notworthy:

very nice, congrats.

It was great to see Curt (and Pete) in an article just a few pages from mine.
Speaking for me personally, I believe we owe Bowhunter Magazine a lot of gratitude. They have LONG held the line versus crossbows, and have frequent articles from traditional bowhunters like myself as well as two or three issues each year with special 'Stickbow Sections' in them. While they certainly have articles from hi-tech guys in there, they do a great job of supporting what we do as well.
You'd be surprised how often articles by us trad guys (in the mainstream mags) get others interested in what we do. I've corresponded numerous times with Brandon Ray, another guy who had an article in that issue of BHM, and he's getting more and more in to trad archery alongside his compound ways. I love TBM obviously, but if we only preach to the choir over there, we fail to recruit. That's why I try to write for both magazines as my primary goal (along with the PBS mag).
And BHM Editor Dwight Schuh's example of using his teeth to draw his bow when he had shoulder surgery or something was HUGE for those of us who still believe archery should involve something hard and require real effort. He, too, is an advocate for what we do even while he normally shoots a compound.
Well said Bryce
Everyone else...thanx :notworthy:
congrats great article
Heck, now I've got to go out and buy another magazine. Congrats to both Curt and Bryce. You are both outstanding representatives of the traditional way. Keep the ink and blood flowing.
Way to infiltrate, dude!
You do tend to get it done.
Killdeer
