First of all I need to thank & apologize to RER. I picked up a used RER Arroyo that shoots as well as any bow I have shot. Plus being a recurve...I usually Do Not Shoot Recurves!
My only problem with it was the grip. Again being a longbow shooter I like a straight to low wrist grip. Also being a knifemaker, I have no problem hogging off metal or wood with a 2X72 belt grinder...doesn't take long to shape wood with a 36 grit belt ;) And knifemakers can be a little weird at times cause we like to destroy a finished blade just to see how the steel looks on the inside
With that all said and done, my Arroyo with a new straight grip and palm swell. While I was at it, I decides to round out the back of the riser shelf too. It still shoots great but now it fits me like a glove. Since it was used there was no warranty so I  it stays together...Doc

Nice job doc!
Tippit got talent with that grinder. He restored a buffalo horn bow tip for me-twice! Can't tell it from the original!

Of course Jeff, you know you could have just custom ordered one with that grip, but what fun would that be! :p I know you love nothing better than to put your own mark on a bow.
Nice work, as usual. :clapper:

Well done.. I have a Mikuta long bow I did the same thing to and I got rid of the thumb rest. Now it fits me. Its fun to fool around and try some new stuff. Great Job !!!
