I noticed Fred Eichler has them on his, but figured I could discern "why" after a while.
No dice. Still clueless. :D
So I'm perusing Kanati Quiver's website and see a familiar face with them on his quiver (rubber bands).
Curiosity's gotten the best of me, now. What are they for?
He uses them for his sleeves, kinda like an armguard.
That didn't take long.
Thanks, Izzy.
Since switching to a 'curve, I haven't hit my arm, yet. Makes me think it's one less thing I'd need to take in the woods if I used the bands.
Thanks again.
to make it quiter...
I think of Master o' the barebow he says he puts 'em around his arm if his clothes are hanging up because he doesn't use an arm guard. Probably other stuff too but that's what I recall right now.

That is correct.
for an armguard.
That's a great idea!!
I was just asking a friend about that this weekend...always made me wonder.
Makes sense.
Josh
I do it too, the come in handy for all sorts of things. Some times if I want to carry an extra arrow or two on the quiver, arm gaurd, around your pants legs, etc, etc, etc,....
whose familier face was that Jeff? If it was me, I use them just like everyone said, to keep loose sleeves out of the way when it's colder. and I did get the Idea from Fred on the mbbII. see ya friday. Don
You can also stick a small branch in them to hide your face behind.....
Everyone is ~almost~ correct. He uses them to snap the camera man in the eye if he screws up a shot opportunity.
:knothead:
Notice he carries a lot of them :)
OK - I made that up. :p
Hi Brian! :-)
I use the 4-arrow quiver with 3 broadheads and 1 blunt and slide a extra 2-blade broadhead near the bracket and held in place with an elastic band.
Yep. That would be you, Batman.
I haven't forgotten about calling you. I've been tied up in the evenings. I'll surely call you tomorrow evening and make plans to see you guys Friday. I'm really looking forward to it.
Jeff
I was just about to post a thread asking the same question! I see this all the time now, and had no idea what it all about. I like Whip's idea best of all.
rubber bands are good for alot of things in the field. You can use them as said to hold down lose clothing, use them to camaflaug your bow by sticking small limbs under them, can also use them to make an arrow holder for your bow (holds your arrow on the shelf)rubber bands can also be used to help attach your tag to an animal carcass among many other uses
