Im just getting started in traditional archery and i do a lot of deer hunting. Would like to know what some of you are hunting with.
I will be using 150 grain Wensel Woodsmen this fall.
I have some Montec's and Stingers to try this summer so I am not sure yet. I have been using Patriots but they don't make them anymore and I am down to 2. Stingers are looking pretty good though.
200 grain Razorcaps.
190 grain Grizzly El Grande's with the long adapter or 200 grain Phantoms.
Claudia
There are a ton of 'traditional' style heads that are great stuff. Probably darn near every one of them.
I mostly use Wensel Woodsmans but have killed plenty of stuff with Magnus, Zwickey, and Snuffer as well.
190 Grizzly El Grande with 125 gr steel adaptor for a total weight of 300 grains. The Grizzly's have a hard steel that seems to stay sharp for a long time.
Zwickey No Mercey double bevel ready to rock.
150gr German Kinetic Silverflame XL's for me. Expensive but deadly foir sure.
Bisch
145 grain ABoyer heads ... bone spliting, hide tearing, S-shaping wound chanel, single bevel deer takers!!
Trad gear rocks!
190 Griz or Snuffers.
220 grain Muzzy Phantoms
160 Grizzly's on Cedar
175 grain razorcaps
125 grain snuffers for me! I am really liking these heads so far!
ash/birch shafts topped w/160 grn snuffers
I am going with the Grizzly Stik single bevel 175 gr. with 75 gr. brass inserts.

150 gr. Magnus Stinger 2 blade on my carbons and 125 gr. ribteks on my cedars.
Me 125 gr snuffers , also! They work great!!
160 snuffers/190 griz elgrande/ 200ace super express
ww
180 grain Silver Flame Elk or pig
STOS for deer
Yup! 125gr Snuffers tipping AD Trad Lites.
125-grain Ace Standards, except for my longbow which I have tuned for 200-grain Ace Super Express heads.
Zwickey 4-blade Eskimos (but my Ace Standards and Magnus II are ready to go just in case.)
Woodsman 125's glue and screw both. I like what they do.
Being the continual tinkerer that I am; I've been wanting to try some 220 Phantoms like Biggie uses.
160 gr. snuffers
125 grain Snuffers!
Stone points this year
145 gr. Bear Razorheads for me.
Stone would be cool!!
I'm going with the 200 grn Ace, though.
Snuffers or Wensel Woodsmans .. 125gr with 100gr adapters  fly great and leave a large hole :archer:
190 grain Grizzley El Grande 9 deer last year 8 with the same head.if it ain't broke dont fix it.
Woodsman and No Mercy but going to try the Muzzy Phantoms for deer this year.
I will be doing some experimenting this year. I'm going to try 160 grain STOS, 190 grain Grizzly El Grande, 155 and 190 grain Tusker Concordes.
Zwickey Delta 4 blades for the 24th season as my main deer head.
160 grain glue on snuffers #1
145 gr. Eclipse of course.
Grizzly 190 El Grande
Brett
Magnus I w/bleeder- 150 gr...... of course!!

Woodsmans weighted at 225grains and Grizzly 160s
I may have any or all of these in my quiver at any one time, typically in this order:
300gr Extreme (my main head now)
125gr Wensel Woodsman weighted to 200gr total
160gr Snuffer weighted to 300gr
160gr Stos weighted to 300gr
130gr Pearson Deadhead weighted to 200gr
200gr Simmons Interceptor w/bleeder
All of them kill; I've got complete confidence in any one of them. Usually I choose which head I'm going to shoot first on a whim.
This year I'm going to try Snuffers, WW, and Zwickey No Mercy single bevel. I am really wanting to try the single bevel on hogs.
125gr Stingers for screw-ins. 125gr Zwickeys or STOS for glue ons. They have all worked for me.
648 grain Bill Sweetland forgewood arrows with Bear Razorheads.bowdoc
155 grain Eclipse with bleeders.
new archer here... I am practicing with 100gr field points. Should I switch to something heavier? Doesn't look like anyone shoots with less than 125gr?
Thanks, gents.
160 snuffers for everything.....
tcw....yeah...100 grains isn't really a lot of hardware. Most of the heads we use are heavier and are reusable over and over again. I have one Zwickey that I've killed 14 deer and one hog with.
Like Terry said, the 100 grainers don't have much steel. I normally shoot 125 WW now with 125 grain steel insert.
175 grain Abowyer Single Bevel Brown Bears weighted to 217 grains with a 100 grain brass insert. I think it still may be on the light side for these Michigan whitetails...
150 grain Zephyr Scirocco's, with the bleeder if I can get them sharp, without if I can't.
No Sasquatches this year, Terry? I though you liked those foot-wide broadeads...
125gr zwickey eskimos but probably gonna move up to 135gr 4 blade deltas, or 160gr stos
Jeff...I did kill my biggest deer with a Sasquatch...and will likely use them again in TX later this year....with the bleeders....but I will have the Z 4 blades as mainstays as usual.
Wensel Woodsman
anything as long as its 125grn
300XTreems and Woodsmans w/heavy steel inserts on hairy critters but often use 2" wide, 200 gr. Simmons Treesharks on longbeards
Abowyer Brown Bears 175gr. with 75gr. steel adaptors for carbons or by themselves on Surewood Shafts (douglas fir)....haven't decided yet. I am leaning toward the Surewoods though.
Snuffer 160grain with 100 grain adaptor, also have magnus 1s and grizzlies but shoot them at elk. I'm uping my pounds and might shoot snuffers at everything
This deer season it will be 190 El Grande Grizzly sharpened by Ron from KME on Sitka Spruce shafts.
125 Thunderheads. If they get dull just put in replacements.
Some of these
(http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b327/selfbow1/011.jpg)
200 grain ACE Standards.
2 blade zwickey delta, big hole and easy to get razor sharp.
probably the zwickey no mercy single bevel.
Hey bondo, nice points! If my knapping skills were that good I would be using stone points also.
125gr Phantoms or 125gr 4bl Muzzy's, just depends on my mood that day as to which 1 I pull out, but usually have both in there and have taken alot of animals with each and they do very well on a tip weighted carbon. Mark
Will use Simmons untill I run out.Guess I will go to one of the smaller heads like you guys shoot then. ;)
125 grain Magnus Stingers w/bleeders
I'll be going into my 4th year with stone. Unfortunately I haven't taken any game with stone...YET...but I am persistant!
I also use WW, Zwickey and Grizzlys.
Old green Bear Razorheads. At least until they are gone. Took a deer and a pig with one last year and it is sharpened up and ready to go again.
