hello, does anyone know if there is any place that manufactures and/or sells bow forms for longbows or recurves? i'm primarily interested in a 1pc longbow form.
thanks in advance for any info!!
mike
Mike, they are fairly easy to make. Plus you can build it to your specs. If you need help contact me.
Mike... Not very sophisticated, a plank and aluminum channel, but it sure works (7 bows so far) and is home shop built. It sure isn't going to warp and should last longer than I do:

This one is 2" on top and 1 3/4" on the bottom. I'm building another that will be 1 1/2".
Hi Mike,

V Archer.... that form structure is fascinating. From looking at it, I'm guessing it clamps direct, i.e. not on an inflatable hose. What and how much padding do you use between the wood and the bow to even out the pressure?
Dick,
I have modified the form later so that it can be used with a pressure hose.
The picture shows how it works with a glued-up bow and pressure hose.

BTW: The bow recently posted in: "My longbow from afar" is built in that form.
Thanks, V-Archer. That clarifies things.
