Title: Ramin Wood Dowel Supplier?
Post by: Scioto on May 10, 2009, 11:39:00 AM
Several years ago I bought about 500 Ramin wood dowels from a place here in Ohio called Midwest Dowel. They were very nice quality overall. I gave them a call last week to place another order, but they told me that they no longer carried Ramin wood.  Any suggestions on another supplier of quality ramin dowels?

Atlas Dowel is where I have got them for years but they are running out of them too.  Said they could no longer be imported due to restrictions.  Won't be alot out there in the future.  A friend of mine just got a bunch of 3/8 hickories from there and they make some nice arrows too and they won't be running out of that anytime soon.  Might consider switching materials.  dino

Try these folks, even though they don't list the Ramin on their site any longer they may have it in stock:  cincinnatidowel.com

You can also try the same with any of the dowel cutters since just about all of them used to use Ramin wood and they may have some in stock still.
