I am in the process of building a library of hunting movies involving nothing but traditional equiptment; I believe ALL trad movies are good but would like some of your opions on some movies that you have seen; I have catalogs from 3 rivers, king customs arrows, and the footed shaft; any titles would be appreciated; Thank you
Fred Bears (Restless spirit) I think that is what it is called it does not have a lot of killing in it but he describes the bowhunter and shows a bunch of footage in the field. I really enjoy it.
Anything from Darryl Q. and Denny Sturgis Jr.
Also Bill Langer.
"Bowhunting Reflections" is a recently released DVD with 90 minutes trad hunting (8-9 on camera kills) with great photography.
It's produced by Steve Gorr and stars him (Is that proper grammar?), Fred Anderson, and Chris Hill. It's a "must have" in my book.
If it were me, #1 on my list would be Primal Dreams.
Any of the Fred Bear videos - they're all cool. I like Restless Spirit the best but that music in there - yikes. 'The huuuuuuunter huuuuuuuuunts alooooooone'. Lol - it's pretty good in spite of that.
HH's Tembo is a classic. Greatest Hits and Last Wilderness are ok, but if you only get one from HH, I think Tembo is the one.
Bill Langer's DVD's are all trad and top notch, he is a sponsor here and a great guy. His DVD's are priced reasonable also.
forgot about that music you are so right ha ha ha
I know you said just trad but if you have not seen Leathal Flight with Tim Meadows you are missing one of the most amazing archery videos ever made. He shoots a compound instinctively. He shoots clay pigeons from a regular thrower out of the air and to me that is UNBELIEVABLE.
All of Bill Langers, the Gettin Stickbow Close I & II, and Vision Quest by Denny & Daryl.
Leathal flight is an awesome movie.
Fred's Traditional harvest series are awesome.
The Lost Antlers, one of my favorites! Lance Goodwin. Lethal Flight with Tim Wells.
Fred Eichler's series Traditional Harvests
as well as his Easton Bowhunting series which is mostly trad. archery.
Bill Langer's are great!
Actually, I have yet to see a traditional archery video I didn't like.
I ran across this the other day, check it out.

I second Lost Antler's. I must have watched that movie a dozen times.
This guy is great!!!
Byron L. Tabor is the founder and president of On Target For Christ Ministries and owner of X-treme Outdoors USA.
Check out the link a couple posts up. Mike Misch and Gary Olsen have made some GREAT hunting videos.
I would have to say that the very FIRST hunting video I ever watched is still a must have for any trad archer: Bowhunting October Whitetails Very well done and some very nice shooting.
"The Adventures of Robin Hood" the origional with Erroll Flynn. There was no such thing as "trick photography" then. ALL of the shots are real and were executed by Howard Hill! Even in the fight scene where people were being shot. They tested Mr. Hills equipment and found the propper thickness of balsa wood to make the chest plates so the arrows would not harm the other actors....yes they actually stood there and were hit by arrows!!! The first ever "Robin Hood" was caught on film during this film. I heard that the first shaft was river cane to help the shaft split evenly from nock to bop.
The DVD Bowhunting Reflections with Fred Anderson and Steve Gorr is one of the best out there, its alot like the old Fred Bear movies,
Not "all" trad but great bowhunting/archery Dvd's...
Bowhunting October Whitetails I&II.
The Tradgang DVD I.
Masters of the Barebow I, II, III.
African Dreams DVD, from Black Widow.
Lost Antlers.
letting loose is a good one as well, Leathal flight is my fav next to bowhunting october whitetails
Deliverance
There are Bear Recurves all through that movie.
I would have to say Primal Dreams, it's my favorite movie.
I by far haven't seen them all but some I like are any of Fred Bear's films, because they are classics. Fred Eichler's Traditional Harvests and his TV show is good too. Lots of others I haven't had the chance to see yet that others mentioned.
Not to repeat some of the videos above, "Archery Elk, the DREAM HUNT" has Paul Brunner and friends hunting elk with stickbows in Montana, Colorado, and New Mexico.
