I decided to run the boat today to my favorite two WMA`s. I was actually checking on turkeys for a short hunt tomorrow or Friday morning.
Right off the bat I was able to have one of my best stalks ever. Got to almost ten yards of a doe. can`t shoot`m now but I always try to take advantage of a chance to "Injun" up on something.

She heard my camera when I cut it on and honed in on me. I could have shot her easily with my longbow.
I eased up into a slew and got out of the boat and headed towards an overgrown food plot on the Hill . Again I`m looking for birds but will not hesitate to get after pork .I ease into the plot and see no birds or pork...I take a few steps and its plain that I did`nt look good enough. 4-5 pigs bust out that were actually laying in the plot. I ease to the back and its ripped with pork sign.Turkey droppings as well.

I ease back into the swamp this time for pork only. I try to hunt slower but the skeeters are fierce and it is hard.I cut across a ridge and find a wallow I did`nt know about.

Wow, looks promising!
RC,
You da man. Keep those stories and pictures coming. If we can't go, we can see it through your lense.
Know what you mean about the mosquitos. In LA we had several big rains and they are big as bluejays, and thick.
Good luck on Friday.
Thanks,
Billy
After a bit of wandering around the swamp I spotted a group of pigs that myself and my Buddy Chris have harrassed several times. He actually killed one from the group a few weeks ago. I saw them and got winded in less that a minute after spotting them. The wind was blowing every direction it seemed and was very frustrating but thats part of it. I got back in the boat and headed in. Very much satisfied with both doe encounters and mad as heck at my ability to run pigs off.Oh well...theres always tommorrow..
A couple of going away pics...

Great photos RC!
Thanks for keepin' us in the loop.
Hope you bloody that APEX soon - your new Widow will be delivered before you know it!
Have a great hunt and we look forward to the next adventure!
Shoot straight, Shinken
Looks like a blast...great story and pix as always RC.
Good stuff, again, RC. It looks pretty similar to here (just swap the deer for 'roos).
Sounds like a great time buddy! I skipped hunting this week, and went fishing instead. I caught some nice fish for the table, but feel disappointed that I didn't take to the river for hogs instead. It's hard to hunt went it's 92 degrees out! Monday I'm gonna get after them again.
