My question is when tuning a bow with a new string do you tune it with the string silencers and what not on or do you find the sweet spot with the bare string then add silencers?
Question two...when measuring for silencers do you measure from tip of string or from where the string meets the recurve limb for distance?
Ive tuned many bows but neverpayed much attention to this b/c I have gone through alot in the past 2 years but I ave finally settled in on two bows and want to get these perfect b/c I'm actually keeping them LOL
well I like to tune as it will be hunted with , so silencers on. I measure from end to end on the string loops and install at 1/4 's. Drew
tnx bud
Definately tune with your silencers in place or you will end up with overspined arrows.
Im not refering to arrows...i am just curious about finding the sweet spot with the brace height.
Sorta like bareshafting you play around with the arrow and get good flight then add fletching. I was wondering if I should find the sweet spot with the bare string then add silencers as needed.
What A.S. is saying, tune your bow with what you are going to have on the string at anytime, because adding components to a string changes spine of the arrow. So yes, set you string up just like it will be used for all situations and tune your bow
