Title: Help Bow tip replacement
Post by: Lefty on May 05, 2009, 02:01:00 PM
We have been collecting bows to donate to the kids shoot at the Compton this year and a friend of mine found this one for me at a yard sale.  It is a Black Hawk Mosquito and is in good shape, except the lower limb tip is missing.  I was really hoping someone had or knew where I find a replacement tip to glue on.  Here are a couple pictures to show what I am looking for.  Thanks!!

How about knocking the other one off and cutting new nocks in the tip, maybe with fg overlays. Don't think you'll find a replacement tip of that old style.

Lefty,

I have an old fiberglass bow with one of the same tips.  You can have the tip if you can tell me how to take it off.

Todd,
I don't know how you would knock it off with out damaging it.

A friend had me look at one of those bows.  I remember cutting off the good tip and cutting nocks into each one and using B50 for the string.  I can't say it shot well but it worked.

Lefty,

I can saw the tip off and send it to you.  I don't care about damaging the bow.  It's just sitting at the archery club above a window.  Today's the start of league.  I'll ask if anyone knows how to get it off.

Todd,  Thanks but that isn't neccessary.  A generous guy has offered to replace the tip.  I am ging to mail it to him for repair and he will bring it to Compton with him, so it can be donated to the kids.  Thanks everyone!!
