I just got the latest issue a few weeks back.  They come out every other month.  It was hit or miss for me around here getting them off the rack so I just signed up for a years subscription last year.

My subscription ran out and they never notified me. The other mags I get send me about 20 notices when it's about to expire! All of that costs them money,of course. It's hit or miss here finding it on the newsstand.
I did re-subscribe though, it's a great magazine.

They sent out a notice on the internet stating that the price of subscriptions is  going up and current subscribers have until the end of this month or thereabouts to renew at the current rate.

I didn't see any of the April/May issue in any of my usual haunts but finally found some at the local Bass Pro. But I went ahead and subscribed, like I should have done in the first place.

Hmm.... and I thought I just didn't notice my subscription had run out.  But I did pick up the May issue last weekend.  I wonder if there's something up at the magazine or is it really just me?

Same here in my area of west cental In. and east Il.. Last issue april/may was not around. Walmart or IGA Store. June/July issue was at the IGA on Wed. this week. Also found a Backwoods mag on the shelf, hadn't seen one of those in years! As far as Walmart goes, I think they are becoming Sportsman/outdoor UNFRIEDLY!

Same here in MO. Just the last 2.  At Wal Mart they sold out and then reordered the same mag and never sold them all and never got the new one.  Luckily the grocery store had it I am going on line and signing up tonight.

I have been buying it on the newsstand for a few years now. It does seem to be a little hit or miss and took a few stops to find the latest issue. May have to do with subscription rates etc. I got an email from them saying something about rates going up but did it also say something about some places would not be carrying it or did I imagine that. I truly enjoy the magazine and stumbling across TB one day re-lit my trad fire!!! I guess I will have to subscribe. Who does the online version and all the options they have now on the website? Is it worth it?? Thanks John

For those who like it the online edition is ok Myself I'd rather have the printed magazine.

I'm always amazed at the rumors that start on these archery forums. Traditional Bowhunter Magazine is alive and well, celebrating our 20th continuous year of publication this fall. We have recently redesigned our web site, and if you have not visited lately you are missing out.  www.tradbow.com. (http://www.tradbow.com.)  Concerning the newstand distribution in certain areas, you may have noticed us missing this last issue, but we were not alone, many periodicals including Time and Newsweek were caught when one of the major distributors went bankrupt. Several of their competitors are now moving into that territory, so the void will soon be filled.
Those of you who have not subscribed you now have two choices either the printed version that we mail directly to your home, or the electronic version. Or how about the best of both worlds and get both!
Thanks to everyone who have made these last 20 years the most enjoyable of my life.

Mr. Fischer, Thank you for the post. All of my go-to news stand spots were dry this last time. I guess I will have to finally breakdown and become an actual subscriber. Thanks for an awesome magazine and lighting the fire in me.
