Title: First Bow
Post by: cameron09 on May 04, 2009, 06:20:00 PM
Hello, I'm looking at a youth bow. I'm fourteen, 5'10" and I want a bow that is around 35 lbs to learn how to shoot and when i get better to hunt with. This would be my own money so a bow at tops would be about 130. I'm looking at the Buckeye by PSE, Mohegan by Greatree, or Polaris by Greatree as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in Pittsburgh, PA so there's few places around here that would work for archery shops. I've found several goods websites like three rivers archery and most noteably this one. I prefer a wood bow and takedown is fine. Also, with the shooting there seem to be many methods which one should I do. I shot a kid bow when I was little but I could draw it with my pinky. I used the spilt finger method and my dad who was in the army just taught me the basics of shooting. Thank you for your time and effort.

TG Classifieds ad (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=031051)

I know you said 35, but here is a forty pounder that might do ya. I am familiar with these bows, and they are stable and forgiving, and nice to look at.

Are you shooting anything right now?

I don't know anything about the bows you listed. You can also keep an eye out in the classifieds here, a Bear Grizzly is also a great bow to learn on and usually priced right!
