My thanks go out to Vince @ Mohawk for building me one exactly like I wanted.
Might not be everyone's cup of tea....but it's EXACTLY what I wanted in my LB.
64" / 48#'s @ 28"
I'll get some arrows tuned, tomorrow.

Pretty cool Jeff! You've gotta be stoked!
Nice bow ....my weight to. Enjoy!!
Bamboo.
I saw one like this on Vince's webpage.....and had to have one like it.
I'll be really stoked, Joe....when I find the right arrow. I'll be bareshaft tuning, tomorrow (but I'll find time to get the other Mohawk in the maiL!).

Nice looking bow! I like the wood combos
Wow!!! I thought your pics would help ease the waiting pains....but mine just got worse!!!
VERY NICE!!!
I like it!
Beauty!
Nice looking longbow!
What a beautiful little bow. I'm extremely pleased. Vince deserves the accolades....as he did send me exactly what I asked for.
I'm having a few issues with my arrow porposing.....but I'm gonna drop back and start with a new string and a bare shaft, tomorrow (I shot it, today, with the string off off the 52#'er I've been shooting (same length mohaw bow). It's not fish-tailing....just porposing. I'm sure it'll be fine.
:bigsmyl:
Nice
I've been wanting to shoot one. Heard they are sweet.
Woodduck, they are sweet. Jeff was kind enough to let me shoot the "christening" arrow yesturday. Sweet, smooth and puts 'em where you're lookin'.
thats a nice one gmmat. now you gotta post a pic or two of you shootin it.. a face behind the bow thread is waiting for your pic.so is bernei dunns bows drawn web page :saywhat:

beautiful bow ya got there, jeff - as are all the 'hawks that vince lovingly creates. enjoy and shoot her well!
porpoising is a direct result of nock point placement - start by adjusting it 1/8" higher.
as with any bow, there'll be a nice sweet spot for brace height. i've had more than a few mohawks and they all seemed to prefer braced at the low end, around 6-1/2" or so.
i've also gone back to 'skinny strings' - using 6 strands of dyneema'02 (dynaflight'97, but with lots less wax), spun up endless style. this made the bow quieter and gained a few fps in speed without a loss of 'stability'.
fwiw, i'd recommend doing all bow testing with carbon or alum arrows - i love woodies, but there are too many variables between each woodie that may make sussing out yer new bow a tad frustrating.
make sure yer pulling each arrow back solidly to anchor, too - short drawing will really mess up arrow testing!
Glad you like her Jeff, she loved my 65# tapered cedars, the lighter boo is getting very popular. Great advice from Rob. Have fun!
Thanks again
Vince
Vince...
If you'd send me the arrow specs on those cedars (including wher eto buy them), I'll look into them. There's a shoot coming up where I'd have to shoot woodies.....so I might as well set some up for this bow. If Im gonna do that....I'll just shoot them from this bow, exclusively.
Thans, again. It's beautiful.
Jeff, mine are 11/32" 65/70 28" von to bop. I taper the last 10" to 5/16" and use a 160 grain point. If you like 125 points you can just run it a little longer. Talk to Tom at RMSG about arrows but he is gone hunting till Monday. Hope you got your carbons working good today.
Thanks again
that's a Beautiful bow.i've yet to see a Mohawk that wasn't.Enjoy.
