Today is my birthday and my Dad told me something that is will make me ecstatic all the way up until the bowhunting season.
My Dad has never bowhunted before, he has actually only deer hunted twice. He has only shot a bow with me a few times. We do go rabbit hunting during the winter, but only about twice a year. My Dad and I don't get to share that father son hunting experience that I always here about.
Well back on topic, this morning my Dad told me that he has decided to give bowhunting a try this year. He says he always sees how excited I am when I shoot something with my bow or even when I don't, he sees the excitement in me when I tell him about my hunt, whether if I see a buck chasing a doe or a few squirrels coming down the tree line and coming so close that I can almost touch them, he loves to see me happy doing the one thing I love.
He will be using a compound, but that is fine with me, as long as I have him in the woods. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to talk him into a recurve in a few years.
Just thought I would share my excitement with you guys, because I love reading about everyone's excitement as well. Thanks guys.
Jack
Your a lucky lucky man, enjoy every moment with him that you can. You will have a great time with him. I wish I had my Dad back.

Congrats on getting some quality time with your pops in the woods. Cherish it my friend! Enjoy it!
Oh yeah..... Happy Birthday!
Well JackP Happy Birthday and treasure your time with your dad. It's my birthday also, eventhough I was born just a few years before you.
Thanks guys, and I can't wait to get him shootin.
I love hearing stories like this. take it easy on the old boy.shootin a compound is just fine an has nothing to do with the magic of a father an son hunting together. My 10 yr old son took his 1st deer this year an I will NEVER forget that.good luck this season.P.S make him pratice alot.
