Title: Arrows w/ dyed feathers
Post by: snag on May 03, 2009, 11:06:00 AM
These are the first arrows I've made with feathers I dyed. I like the softer color instead of bright colors. Probably won't be able to see than as well...but that will make me have to hit what I am looking at that much more!     These shafts are 95# Surewood Shafts. I am so impressed with their douglas fir shafts! So straight, pretty heavy, and easy to straighten if you find one or two that need some attention. These arrows weigh 580gr. at 30" bop and 160gr tips. I'm shooting them out of a 55#@28" cut to center Blacktail recurve.    (http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/snag23/arrows.jpg)

Great looking arrows, nice job! What type of dye did you use? I've done some with the Great Northern dye kit, came out great.

I used the Rite dye and then locked the color in with vinegar and water.
