Hunting in IN this morning. There was a truck parked where I planned on going. The neighbors had a guy walking in next to my second choice. Drove around and parked on the other side of the section. Went to a not so hot spot. This little jake walked by and I thought, "Man, I'm tired of getting up at 4:00.
I missed him at 12 yards. He hung around too long and I knocked feathers off him at 20. Finally I shot the way Rod taught me (LOL) and executed a perfect shot.
Not the biggest or smartest turkey I've ever shot, but at least I can sleep in a little and my tags are filled.
His little fan only had 2 long feathers :saywhat:

You cant eat the long feathers anyway. If it wasnt for "dumb" Jakes I'd have no archery Turkeys...I luv-em.
Congrats Denny!
Hay took my me 5 years to get one them " not the biggest or smartest turkeys"

Most of the time I feel like they are all smarter than me!!LOL
Tail would make a good tail for a decoy!!
I was expecting Emeril Lagose.....
They might not be very smart, but they've managed to outsmart me this year. Man, that doesn't say much for me...hmmm

Biggie, LOL I didn't have a clue what you were talking about. I had to look him up.

One of these days I might have to ask you to take me turkey hunting, that's one animal I've never hunted.

Congrats
I saw this little two year old girl on tv; reciting the capitols of different countries. Brilliant child.
The turkey may have been small-( but for one wise hunter) - he would have lived to be a hundred !!
Nice shot :)
