You guys have any input on this, I thought I remember this would be ok, and 4 stand is too light, but should I jump to 8 strand to be ok?
I ask because I had a sting made (by Ron) for my Shrew when I had it, 450+ 6 strand - the bow was 53@28
I now have a 54@28 bow FF compatible and thought I would use that string.
Thanks
Jake
6 strand 450+ will be just fine, just pad the loops to what ever the stock string was.
I had a 6 strand 450 on a 52lb bow for a while no issues at all. I just put a 8125 10 strand on the bow and have only shoot it about 30-40 arrows since and like the 8125 string well also.
Jake, you should be alright. I have 6 strand 450+ on my 57# Shrew and it works great.
Thanks guys! I will get it set up and see how she does!
I have been shooting 6 strand 450+ on a Savannah 63#@28.450+ is a strong string,I prefer to use 450+ on my low strand strings.
I would stick to about 11 strands. A friend of mine had a mid 50# bow with a 8 strand d97 string break...you don't want that! You shouldn't see or feel anything different w/ a 11 strand or so.
I have 2 shrews, and both have 6 strand strings and are great.
If I remember correctly, Javaman told me that they go up to an 8 strand string for 60#s and up.
I just finished shooting a few arrows with the 6 strand and it I can see a little difference in sound and maybe it is just in my head but I think just a bit of speed.
Looks like ti will do great, and it does have padded loops by the way.
I am using one of Ron's 6-strand strings from my Super Shrew @ 57 lbs. Works great!
