Title: Placement of Feathers
Post by: The Whittler on April 28, 2009, 09:41:00 PM
Someone posted about Rick Welch shooting form. He uses the cock feather touching his nose as an anchor point. You have to adjust your feathers to coincide with this form.

My qusetion is if you have arrows already fletched why  couldn't you just move the cock feather instead of all of them? Thanks for any replies.

I use the corner of the shield at the corner of my mouth.
Messes with my head when I use a parabolic or bareshaft!   :biglaugh:

Kill, I would hate to see you shoot flu-flus lol.

I forgot to mention that he aslo uses his thumb joint at his ear, so you get 2 anchor points.

I didn't think it would make a big diff. to move just the cock feather a little (1/8"-1/4") either way.

It won't hurt a thing to stagger all of them, much less one of them.

I use two anchor points too. Middle finger to the corner of my mouth and the tip of my nose on the cock feather. My shooting has improved alot since doing this.

I just cut a 1/4" off the back of all my arrows in turn making the fletchings closer to the nock. This way they touch my nose without having to overdraw or lean my head forward. There is still plenty of room to "get the hooks in" without touching the feathers. I really like it!
