I know everyone likes pics, so I thought I would share some from my first day out bowfishing for the year. I went down to the local river bend for a couple of hours on Friday and had some pretty good luck. They weren't in there thick yet, but every so often one would swim in close enough that I could stalk it from the river bank. The one in the third pic was loaded with eggs. I ended up with five total. Unfortunately all of the trash seems to wash into this area, so it looks like a dump in the pics.
I was by myself and took the pictures of myself using the Clip Shot Camera Holder that 3Rivers and others sell. It was the first time I used it and it worked pretty slick. I just stuck my arrow in the ground and attached the Clip Shot to that.

We start next weekend. Hoping for a nice hot day. Nice set-up. What bow are you shooting? Trash fish in the trash!
Jeff, that's a great couple of hours! My son and me went to the creek yesterday, but couldn't find any carp. Did shoot some suckers last week! I've got to learn how to post pics. Nice deer in your pic, too! Good shootin, Steve
Congradulations bowfishings alot of fun. I was wondering if the warm weather brought them in yet. Looks like its going to cool off again.
I checked out a couple spots on the portland state game area a couple years ago but it didnt look like good carp spots and I didnt find any.
Thanks for posting the pictures.

That's a Quinn Stallion. It's actually my hunting bow. I usually use an old Ben Pearson Hunter, but I'm in the process of refinishing it. I went 5 for 6 on shots which never happens so I think the Quinn shoots better than the Pearson.

It's actually above the Portland Dam on Lyons Rd, but it's not too far from Weber.
I thought that was a Quinn. Recognized the purpleheart limb wedges. Great all-purpose bows at a great, Made In The U.S.A. price.
Congrats
Nice work! I'm ready to go myself...
Very Cool.
Cool pictures.
I might have to hit it
this week.
Great job...it looks like you got enough for "Carp Pie". :bigsmyl:
Bowfishing here is slow with cool temps and clouds. Maybe next week...
I should have added that I shot three of them standing on that tree that is in the water over my shoulder in the first pic. Made for a nice platform, but it tested my balance with a fish on! We got a lot of rain the past two days, so I'm thinking some of my other spots might be heating up if it stays warm.
