Hey guys, I was browsing through my favorite hunting picturse and thought I'd share my daughter AL's first buck picture. She has taken four does with a recurve that I built for her, and she finally got this young buck. She let him pass under her and took the shot at 20yds going away. Her 45lb recurve drove the woodsman broadhead home for a 60yd tracking job. I was about 70 yds away and heard the shot and the deer's flight. I never heard it cross the creek before all went silent. It was a fine day for us because it was the last season that she would be living at home before she'd be off to college. I thought maybe I was lossing my best hunting partner. I'm happy to say that she still returns to bowhunt with her old dad. Last year 2008 she decided that since she has taken her first buck that she will let this size deer walk by from now on in hopes of a little better buck. Well....she had a real knee shaker with a real buster buck. The buck was close but offered no good shot for her little recurve. "front on". She had enough self control to fight off the urge to take a risky shot.....Yeah I'm proud of her.... Al is well into her quest to become a Dentist. Maybe someday she can take her old dad on a hunting trip.....Nice dream........Life is good..Sip it slowly.....IMG] (http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr284/duanekrones/IMG_4469.jpg)
WOW! Very touching. Congratulations to her, and Dad. :notworthy:
That is awesome! My daughter is only four but all she talks about is going hunting with DADDY! I cant wait until she is able to enjoy it with me! Those there are memories my friend, why could'nt I find a girl like that in college that wanted to hunt instead of complain about it?
Seems you've managed to raise a beautiful daughter, a great hunting partner, and a focused student. Good job.
Did she check the teeth to see how old it was? LOL
Great job.
Very nice. Congratulations to you both. Ed
Great buck, congrats to your daughter!!! It's great to see teenage/college age girls hunting............did I mention that I'm 20? haha
My son is a freshman at the U of Iowa...where does your daughter go? I would love to have a daughter in law who shoots traditional!! LOL
Excellent all around.
Great stuff. My daughters are 3 and 1 y/o. My 3 y/o went with me turkey hunting a couple weeks ago. She is still reminding me that I missed... twice. :)
Great stuff all around. You have every right to be proud of all of it...
Thanks for the nice words guys. Sorry to you young bucks out there. She has managed to convert a young man to traditional archery, that she is rather fond of. I almost posted the picture of her with a big smile while she field dressed the buck but I thought maybe some folks wouldn't approve. She's a complete hunter insisting on field dressing her deer on her own.
Thats good stuff!!!
Congrats to you both.
Excellent job!! :notworthy:
Very nice   You have every right to be proud.
What a blessing LPM!
Your daughter must have a great dad! :~)
My daughter (12 yr) will complete the "official" Hunter Safety course this year just in time to participate in archery season for big game. She would like her first big game animal to be -- ANYTHING that she has a tag for -- but she is really hopin' for a black bear!
As an aspiring DVM (at 12 yr old) she has no problems with dissection - of anything - AND she can put one scary edge on a blade.... :~)
She has been out in the mountains with me the past 2 seasons and has seen a lot of elk, deer, turkey, and a couple of bobcats, but she has not seen a bear yet - lots of fresh bear sign - tracks and scat and rubs and claw marks.... She has her fingers crossed for this comin' season that she will have that opportunity.
Thanks for sharin' your daughter's success with us LPM - what a blessing!
Shoot straight, Shinken
Congratulations!
Priceless! Congratulations to her for a taking a fine buck and congratulations to you for raising a fine young woman! Not too often you hear of lady converting a guy to trad! :clapper:
Nice picture and swell job of raising your daughter.
Always nice to see that girls can grow up and love hunting too, as well as boys tend to do.
A very fine buck indeed, by the way.
