Take a look at the Great Plains web site. I was there earlier and they had something like a "long recurve"  Also, that looks more like a child / in pink clothes / in a back pack carrier than a recurve to me.

Olympic guys have up to 72" recurves.  I'm sure some custom bowyer could build you a 68" recurve.

Well, are you looking for an all wood bow? Some sponsors on trad gang, myself included, can make you an all wood Bamboo backed osage bow.
It looks and sounds like most of the bows above are glass bows and it sounds like you are looking for a wood bow. Is this right?

.. we talk about "his" bow all the time.

Bamboo backed Osage, 68" or more, recurve, low to mid 40's at 28" - is what he's lookin for.

Well, I have "something like this"... it is a 66" 38# @ 28" recurve made by a company named Root. I inherited it from my father, and I shot it in a league for one or two years, about 10-12 years ago. It took some getting use to; I think it was the length combined with the low poundage. Personally, I just like the feel of shorter bows better than this length.

Not sure....  Are you talking basically a selfbow style bow with static recurved tips?  Or do you mean a full blown risered recurve more like the root pictured above?

If the "selfbow style" (I know you want bamboo backed but I'm talking about handle/fades/cross section.) I would wonder about itbeing possibly percieved as "mushy" to shoot.  That's a lot of bow length for that weight.  Not saying it can't be done but I just don't know how it would shoot.  There's a lot of working limb in a bow like that.

I would suggest you search here for contact for Brad Merkel (Sp?) who goes by "Littletree".  If there is anyone who could build you the absolute nicest shooting static recurved osage bow to your specs it's him.  Though I'm not certain if he does the bamboo or not.  Brad makes some of the best shooting, best built osage bows I've ever seen.  He's getting up a group for a version of mojam to be held somewhere else real soon.  I've gotten emails on it but don't recall details right now.
