I recently ordered a dozen CX Heritage shafts (thanks go to RMSG for their 10% off to TG members.....and for their 1st rate CS). I also ordered them sent with GT nocks, because the CX nocks are too wide (throat) for my bowstring.
Well....these nocks are too wide, too. I had a shoot, Sunday, and simply tied in a little tighter lower nocking point to pinch them a little better. I think I neeed to just serve another layer, but that makes the point too big (I only have waxed serving).
Should I try it with a little more pressure, to make it sink into the current serving, more.....OR....get some smaller serving material?
Other?
I suppose I could also serve it, normal, and file out the nocks.
What do you guys do in this situation?
Thank, in advance, for your help.
I'll use some dental floss to build my serving up or some very thing serving material like .19.
Dave:
Thanks. I'll look into getting some smaller materials. I'm tired of trying to pinch the nock in there to keep it on the string.
Off to the bow shop.
try the dental floss or run the knocks under some hot water and pinch them together until you get the right size.
Waxed dental floss.
I use floss & super glue too.
Jeff:
Your making this much harder than it needs to be. Just re-serve the string with a larger material.
