I ordered this bow last December and it just got here today. This guy is a deffinate Artist and an excellent bowyer. He's been building custom hand crafted longbows for 29 years and I was glad to wait for this bow, knowing it would be exactly what I wanted, and it sure is!
I named it the
"Buck Swatter"
The bow is 66" 46#@28", made of 9 exotic woods and has a Yew core with Elk antler inlays. The woods are as follows;
1, Brazillian Cherry
2, Bocate
3, Yew
4, Leoperd Wood
5, African Wenge
6, Maple
7, Zercote
8, Locust
9, Action Wood
The first dozen arrows I threw with this bow all hit within an 8" circle at 25 yards. It has NO hand shock, makes zero noise (even without silencers) and has the smoothest draw of any bow I have ever shot. You can bet if I ever want to buy another custom longbow I'm callin' James at J.D. Berry Bows!
This guy is more interested in finding out what you want in a bow than he is selling bows. He'll talk to you about it for hours to find out exactly what you want.
Here is his web site in case you're interested.

If you're talking about the dotted wood, it's Leopard Wood. I wish my camera was worth a darn. That is beautiful wood. Up close it looks like lizard skin with all the dots.
I can't believe how well it shoots being as pretty as it is. I've never shot a bow as well as I do this one. The first 12 arrows were all within an 8" circle at 25 yards. The funny thing is, I very seldome miss that 8" circle with this bow. I'm truely amazed!
It was worth every second of waiting and every dime I paid!
Held your bow at the morning coffee table at Jame's place. I am there for coffee every morning so I get a good look at all the bows going out. Yea its a really nice bow, thats for sure, Happy shooting Del---Dan Berry
Nice Viper Del. That leopardwood riser sure is sweet. Love that Brazilian Cherry! James makes some great bows.
Congrats Del!!! I know you're a happy guy right now! That's a BEAUTIFUL bow and appropriately named hopefully. LOL.
Del, that is one beautiful bow! I had an Apollo. James is a true bowyer!

Very nice
Del
Actually I was wondering about the sideplate material you used for your rest?
Thanks
Jake

Looks like velcro over&under.. That's what James used on mine too.
Nice bow Del. Did you order the next one yet? :goldtooth:

Trad - thanks man, but it looks like the side plate has the "hook" side of the velcro on it, not the "loop", am I seeing that right?
over&under, that is velcro. The soft side up on the shelf and the hooked side up against the back. Really works well.
horatio1226, I wish I had the money to order one of each...lol I would love a complete collection of Berry bows. I used to have an Appollo I bought used and I loved it, but knowing I had this one coming, I sold it to buy a new flintlock rifle, so I can hunt bp season also.
Wow, that look great! I've never seen a bow with that many different woods in it.
Nice Bow....  James does nice work. He just reworked my riser on an old JD bow. The man knows his stuff.
James makes a beautiful bow, I have 3 and they just seem to get better and better.
Dale what kind of limb tips did James use on your bow. Pix if you could... Thanks, Al
