Whew! That was a big set of pages to process and post, but as promised, it's done. If you couldn't go to Moses Lake but want to see what it was really like, here you go.
There's no way I could put all these photos on a web board, so I created an album on my own site. Instead of burying the album several files down in my web structure and creating a huge long link that breaks on some sites, I put a direct link on my home page index. That way I can post the shortest possible link. Go to the address below and scroll down to the index. The second item is "Archery Pages" and you will see an inset block with "Moses Lake Rock Shoot 2009" . There is a link in that box that will get you to the whole album... four pages worth. I tried to set it up so that you could really get as close to experiencing it as a web page can...

Hope you enjoy it.
Dick thanks enjoyed the pics.
Dick, it was great to meet you! We had a blast, but I needed to go back to Leavenworth Saturday and continue unpacking. True to form, I found the taper tool I was missing, but only after I bought another one. Never fails :banghead: Looks like I'll be able to make the WSTR next month. Hope to see ya there!

yaaaa...i was gonna go to moses lake but my woman didnt want to travel that far..went to klickitat instead ...you goin to hoodriver next weekend dick? (i think its next weekend)
I plan to be at Belfair next weekend and I will be at the WSTR in Idaho. Also planning to hit the Pope and Young this year.
Thanks for taking us along Dick...I made it to Moses Lake twice while stationed at Fort Lewis...Still have nightmares over those arrow eating rock back stops :scared: .
I was lucky this year (or Flapjack covered for me!). I lost one arrow and bent two, but I was able to straighten them out enough to keep shooting... that was it!
where's the lake? lol
Dick,
Thanks for the photo story and narrative. Looking forward to meeting you and all the TGers that will be at WSTR.
Ray
Pretty nice Dick, it looked like a few of the shots were "you don't want to miss the target shots"

Man, there was a bunch of "arrow-eatin'" rocks out there! Looks like a fun shoot.
Thanks Dick
Very nice Capt. Dick.
Thank you.

I was born in Moses Lake in '61 at Larson. I have'nt heard much about it since. Enjoyed the pics and story. Thanks
I did a lot of carp shooting around Moses Lake and the Potholes. Did not ever hear of a "Rock Shoot" in my time in the Seattle area. To be sure there are plenty of rocks in the area.
Good site. Thanks.
Do you do any Carp shooting? Pics of that in the Potholes area would be good also.
I loved it and man was it dusty... I am still cleaning the dust out of our stuff. I sure did love every minute of it. Thanks Dick for the pics..
Tradgang member CCH and I put on the "One Arrow Shoot" on Saturday afternoon and we had 59 shooters participate. Archers paid a $5 entry fee and only one arrow was allowed on the course with the top 3 finishers splitting the pot. Needless to say, several (including me) had their one arrow connect with a rock and made us spectators.
With 3-4 days of 70 degree weather, the carp began spawning and splashing near Moses Lake and the Potholes. Here are a couple pics of two of our biggest.
