These pics are about a week apart but we had a ball chasing them for a few days. Got both on video, and had a few misses as well!
This was my buddy's (ironhide)(first pic) first trad bow kill, and he made an excellent shot!!
He was shooting a 60" 55@28 Kanati, and I had my 58" 52@28 Thunder Mt. Lobo.

It sat out for awhile last season and got pretty faded... did't seem to bother the turkeys any though, had lots of em' all around us most every day we were there.

good job fellows!
Congratulations :clapper:
Congrats you guy's!! That looks like a bloody arrow in the quiver priceless. Well Jake if you can hit one of those gobblers you should not have any trouble with the hogs. When are you going anyway? I have been waiting for some pics. Take care..Henry
Thanks guys!
Henry - ya that was the lucky arrow, and good thing you can't see the BH end of some of the other ones in the quiver, they have dirt on them from missing!!!
We leave this coming Wednesday afternoon! Definatly pics and storys are to follow!!
Jake

Too cool! Love the white banded tails on those Merriams birds.
Things are really heating up in the turkey woods :notworthy:
Great job Jake. I had one of those miserable hunts Saturday when our season opened. I got up at 5 am drove 45 minutes to our farm, got all the way back to the woods. Heard two gobblers and had eased into around 150 yards of them when I heard a four wheeler start up at the road. The guy drove it all the way back to where I was gets off of it and walks 50 yards to his blind he had set up just across the property line. Once it gets light the birds flew off the other direction. OHHHHHHHH some people amaze me.
Sorry just had to vent. I'm still steaming about it.
Very nice,congrats to you both.
Congrats
Jake,
Great job on the Turkeys.

Shaun, I agree. These merriams have got to be some of the prettiest birds...well from the neck down... :D
KYTJ - I hear ya Bro..We had the same kind of opener with a couple of gun hunters, they started booming away and there went the birds! Keep at it!!

It is an Ameristep Doghouse if my memory serves me. It is not bad for the money, uses tent poles to give it more height in the center. It has held up well to some pretty hard abuse, but as you can see has faded in the sun pretty bad. For only $40 on **** it has been worth it.
We are going to get a hub style for next year I hope.
sweet,congrats
nice shootin boys
nice gobblers ther guys! ^5!
Nice Job Jake!! Fine birds!! Glad to hear your going after hogs. Good Luck!! Love you Thunder Mtn as well, great shooter.

Mark and Ryan - Thanks for the thoughts, hope to have lots of pics and and a good hog story for ya when I get back.
Ryan - ya Jerry sure did make a fine bow, this one aint going anywhere, it was my first custom and this was my first kill with it, made it extra special!
