As some of you guys might remember I just got my Black Widow back. While it was away I ordered my first carbon arrows from Three Rivers and went with their advise on the selection. They are beautiful but I am having fits trying to get good arrow flight. They appear to be slightly nock left in the target but inconsistent due to the soft type of target I am shooting into
I get a noticeable wobble, almost a spiral kind of look to it when I shoot. I am hitting exactly where I am aiming and they land exactly where my 70-75 spine wood arrows are landing.
TR recommended I go with their Traditional Only shafts and recommended I go with the 300 at 10.1 gpi.
they installed 100 grain brass inserts and collars and I am shooting 125grain points. Arrows are cut at 31"
I shoot a BW MAII which is 49lbs @ 30" (my draw)
I have tuned hundreds of bows in my life, always with woods but all my normal tuning techniques are failing me with this combo.
Nocks are snugg but not overly, brace hieght range and nocking points are not effecting the flight much unless I go overboard.
More point weight weakens them, less stiffens them..You don`t have much length to mess with..I`m not familiar with those shafts or ur bow, but it sounds like they may be a little stiff but nock left should be weak?? 300 spine seems stiff all my bows are in the 60s @ 29 an i only shoot 340s..I no each arrow manufacturer is different.. If ur arrows are hitting left its definitely stiff.. Try shooting a bare shaft with a fletch arrow i bet that tells the tail an post ur resolute s here an you`ll get talked through it
TTT again for some help
Yeah, seems way too stiff, even with the point loading. 500's seem like more in the ball park.
So a 300 your saying is too stiff, even with a 31 inch arrow. Cant figure why they said I should be with these then. Will call them in morning.
It has a slight left nock but the arrows are hitting on target exactly where i am aiming, where they should be.
Very confusing
AD Trad lites, 31" with 225 FOC...

Joe I dont understand what your saying ?
Joe I do not understand your post, is that the arow I should be at???
Try using a 100 gr point and see if that makes them fly straight. is it a side to side wobble you are getting? Sounds to me like they are too soft and you might be too front loaded.
Rick
Well, called TR, spoke with Shawn there and he said he thinks I was told the wrong spine and recommended I send them back and they would send me the "340" spine arrows. I also called BW and they said the same so hopefully that works it out.
I bet the 400's would even be better. 300's would definitely be too stiff at that draw weight. I shoot the trad only's 500's out of my 50-56 lb bow's with 225 grains up front and they fly perfect. I only draw 26" though.
I'd think you would be more in the ballpark with .400 or .500 spine. From my experience, even the .340 are likely going to be way too stiff.
that would be with a 31" arrow? still too stiff with 30 inch draw on a 49 pound bow?
In cedar arrows I am shooting 65-70 and 70-75 and they shoot nice.
Plus those 340's will have the 100 grain brass insert plus 10 grain collars plus a 125 grain point
I think Hardhed an Kentucky are right on
I will call them tommorow and discuss this.
