Pulled into the driveway at 10:30 last night... sun burnt, worn out and one tired but happy camper. As usual, I went a day early and left on Saturday afternoon. Place gets crowded on Saturday. The event was HUGE this year. I didn't hear a figure but I suspect they might hit 500 with families. I took a lot of pictures and will build an album on my website today or tomorrow. Got cleanup work to do... the van is plastered with a 1/4" of dust.
The big news for me though was Flapjack... that bow is fantastic! The shoot seemed to have a longer average target distance this year... pretty short on realistic mid-range shots (IMHO), but Flappie and I took 'em from the stakes (or, in a few cases further) and made way more than our share of good hits. Naturally, there were those targets on which I fell apart... always are... but overall, I'd have to say that this was clearly the best shooting I've ever done at a 3D. I shot 9 courses in 2 1/2" days, at maybe 1 1/2 to 2 miles per course in very, very rough country. Not too bad for an Old Phart who spent his life behind a desk!. I probably did another 3 or 4 miles doing the required number of circuits around camp, checking out dealers and shooting the breeze with folks... tremendous number of dealers this year.
Pix and a further report as soon as I can get it done.
..looks like you and flappie are getting along great! congrats on the great shooting and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the input, and glad you had fun, that is why we shoot a bow. Can't wait to see some pics. Thanks for sharing.
