Title: 250-300gr 2 blade glue on b/heads. who makes 'em?
Post by: ozy clint on April 16, 2009, 06:58:00 PM
does anyone put out a b/head in this range that is a glue on? looking to team it up with a 125gr adapter for a super heavy head. also does anyone make a matching field point?

thinking about trying say, 300gr b/head + 125gr adapter + 100gr insert for a total of 525gr on the front of a GT big game 100+ out of my 70# recurve. for buffulo of course,  ;)

Now Clint,

I thought you said your preferred broadhead weight without the adapter was 125 gr...? Change of heart? or just experimenting?

BTW, did you get the BHDs I sent you yet?... and thanks very much again for the Black Stump heads.

Ron

dave- i've been tinkering lately?? i haven't even touched an arrow. it's all ideas floating around in my idle head while i'm waiting for my bow to get back from bob lee. i think it's at the post office now. i'm in canada, can't hunt anything cause i'm not allowed or it's out of season....so i'm thinking about hunting at home all the time. just thinking of different arrows that might work better than others on buffulo.

ron- 125gr is still my prefered glue on weight. i'm just pondering about getting a gt 100+ to work out of my 70#'er. to do it i will need a pile of weight up front. i think that that they would handle 500+gr upfront out of my bow. they would be close to the finished weight i want too without mucking around with home made weights inside.

nothing has turned up yet, but they shouldn't be long. thanks.
have you tried sharpening them blackstumps? pretty ordinary factory edge, i know. a bit of work at the start but i find them easy to maintain with my method of sharpening.
