My wife and I are making a road trip from our home in North West Louisiana to Georgia and South Carolina. Anyone have some sugestions on places to visit? Looking for a good bow shop or custom bowyer that welcomes guests.
Also interested in the local sites. Especially FOOD! Will be spending some tme on the coast.
Any sugested stops between here and there are also welcome as we are not making hard plans, just going to keep it casual.

I don't know anything about bowyers in Ga or SC, but since you highlighted food, I will try to help. Hit the coast and visit Savannah and Charleston. Eat at The Pink House in Savannah then stroll down towards the river front and buy a good cigar from the shop near Washington's cannons. Then ease down to the river front and watch the traffic on the river. There is an Irish pub just down from the Hyatt with live entertainment that is usually enjoyable. You can also hit Lady and Son's (Paula Dean) in Savannah-order the shrimp and grits. The Pecan encrusted tilapia is hard to beat from the seafood restaurant on that same section.
When you are in Savannah, you are within spitting distance of several barrier islands and refuges.
If you want to be nice to your lady and I am sure you do, stay at The Elliot House in Charlston. Wine and cheese in the courtyard is a nice precursor to a night on the town. Be sure to eat at Hyman's Seafood in Charlseton.
Gregg knows alot about food..Mike Treadways in North Carolina, not sure about visitors but he's one of the good ones.
You can head up to Columbia, SC and talk to Mr Owen Jefferies. Give'm a call first to make sure he's there, but from what I gather, on most days he can be found at either the bow shop or his sons pro shop.
Charleston is great historical place to visit, and has the beach close buy if you like the sand and surf.
St Simons and Jekyll Islands two of my favorite places to go. I only live about 75 miles away. Good fishing and St. Simons has all kind of great places to eat.I`m tight and usually catch my own seafood.RC
Mr. Osborn I saw your post. I am from Benton, north of Bossier City. My son and his wife live in Savannah, where he is a scuba diving instructor. We have been there several times and it is a great city. As Mr Duddley stated definitely hit the riverfront downtown. Cotton Exchange on the River has good food. Also take one of the tours to learn some of the History. Very interesting.
