Hey Gang,
It was a Holy Saturday, I met Parker and his Mom at the Santa Cruz Archery range for the first time, he took his new Howard Hill longbow in hand and a back quiver full of arrows a roving! Thank you Vermontster.
It was too crowded at the practice butts so we warmed up on the range. Parker was smiling ear to ear and quickly noticed that his arrows were nicer than mine! Smart cresting thanks to Jacobsladder! He also was curious about the boars ivories on the quiver thanks RC.
I could only imagine the joy he felt to get a real longbow in hand and leather quiver full of arrows as an 11 year old. We shot some arrows around the range and enjoyed a special day before Easter. We made plans to shoot next week so we can watch our progress as we both improve.
Thanks again Guys!
Thanks for sharing!
No video game or television show has ever been as good as playing in the woods with a bow and arrow. You guys are doing a great thing here.
Jeff
Good job Larry. Things given to Kids are nice and David does a lot of it but the TIME spent with them is whats priceless and the very best gift. Keep it up and God Bless.RC

RC I agree wholeheartedly. I was talking to my sister, Parker's Mom, and she was commenting that this gift would be a vehicle for her and Parker to spend more time together shooting archery. That combined with me taking him out to shoot with my son, is a good thing for young men as they reach towards manhood.

Hopefully, Parker will realize just how lucky he is to have Larry Yien as his mentor!
My hat's off to the mentors!!  :clapper:
Larry and all..Thanks for helping little Parker get started! I'm sure the bow and arrows will provide lots of fun memories...... Vermonster....any chance you could send a coach with every kid package?...
Well done guys.....
cool!!!!!!
Now that's the way to pass it on. Many valuable memories made I'm sure. Also the self confidence and learning that will follow will carry on in his life. One of the best ways to spend time with your kids...out in His creation having fun with a bow and arrow! I look forward, Lord willing, to the day I can share archery with my grandson.
