Hey guys. I shoot a recurve 52# @28" and R/D longbow 50# @28"
I draw 28" on a good day and would like to shoot the same arrow from both bows. Currently I shoot 50-55 woodies 29" bop with 145gr tips. I have a local shop that I prefer to deal with that has vaporwoods and bemans. I'd like a decent budget minded carbon arrow. I shoot 2 blade 145gr stos on my woodies and would like to add an adapter to these for my carbons maybe a 45gr for 190 up front? Or maybe even heavier? What spine would be best. I can always fine tune the point weight with inserts or adapters. Thanks Skippy
What works for you guys in a similar range?
If you can get the Vapor Carbonwood 3000's I think they would be a good choice for you. I have been shooting the 3000's in bows from 50 to 60 lbs and just adjusting the tip weight. I recently discovered that when you cut them to 29.5 inches and put 350 grains on the nose they fly like darts out of my 55# longbow.
Good luck..Henry
A Carbonwood 2000 would be a good choice unless you want to load up the front end.Carbonwood 2000 has a spine of .500,3000 is .400,4000 is .350 and 5000 is .300 spine.I shoot 3000 with 100 gr. insert and 125 gr. point from 58-62# longbows,a 3000 would be equal to a GT 55/75,Beman ICS 400.
You want a spine of 0.500. I was shooting o.400 out of 68 lbs at 30. Carbonwoods were the first carbon I purchased. Their spine constancey was just terrible. In one doz I had spines ranging from 64 to 92 lbs. They probably improved or they should be out of business. I'd have your local shop put them on a spine tester for me.

I believe Blackhawk has been bought by Gold Tip now.I have and still shoot Carbonwood 3000 and 4000 and some VMAXX 5000,I haven't had any spine problems with mine.
I shoot Carbonwood 4000 cut to 29.5" with 300gr up front out of bows from 50-60 pounds. Fly like darts.
