Yurts could be considered kind of a mongolian tepee.

Spent 4 days comfortably in a yurt in below zero weather in upper Minnesota two years ago.  Loved it.  I think they would make fine basecamps.  Our stay was extremely comfortable in the snow and wind.

Here is a link to one of many commercial yurt manufacturers:

Google yurts and you'll get a dozen or more companies that make them.

Stayed in one at a campground but never hunting camp. It was nice and warm and seemed to be well put together. I did not know they were mobile. I would bet they take up more space than a canvas wall tent.

We stayed in one on the Oregon Coast a few years ago.  They were of modern construction though, so really just an 8 sided cabin.  Probably would have been more rustic had they been made out of Yaak Hides !!!

I went to the link posted above, and man some of the yurts are nicer  than my house !! If a person had some hunting property that he wanted to spend more time at, what a great alternative and I bet they go up fairly quick.
