WOW, just got this in from Bob and it is the best Morrison I have ever owned. Mini 14 riser of zebrawood and black phenolic with red accent stripe flanked by clear maple. D recurve ILF limbs, foam core with carbon on the back covered in wide banded watersnake skins, not sure if the belly is black glass or carbon, phenolic tips. 60#@28". Super smooth on the draw and dead in the hand. This thing is quiet as a mouse and fast as lightening. Nope, this one will not be going anywhere people, so don't even ask!

Nice Bow Danny! That's a sweetie...I'll check back at you in two weeks.....I'm in line first cause I know you'll get tired of it quick! :saywhat:
Nope!
I'm gonna buy it! And then I will ask Bob to take those limbs down to "skinny-banded water snake" size, and it should be just about my weight.
Sure is a beauty, Danny! I like the understated pattern of the skins, brings out the riser.
Killdeer
WOW Danny, what a SWEET BOW! Do you really think that you can be true to her? We'll see brother, we'll see... :bigsmyl:
Nice bow Danny.
I want one...But the BA says nope.
Bob does it again...very nice Danny
Opening up a box with a brand new Morrison in it...aaaahhhhhhhhh we need to coin a term for that experience. Although I'm not sure a single word could relate all the emotion.
Beautiful bow brother now go get her bloody. Let us know when she earns her name and what it turns out to be.
T.J.
Danny keep us posted and give us your opinions on the Type 1,never seen them. Ciao Felix
I usually don't care for zebrawood but that is one beautiful bow.
Danny, sweet bow and glad to hear you are happy with it. Considering the number of bows that have been through your hands your statement speaks volumes. Now, if we can just get you to KEEP it :biglaugh:
Please don't shoot me for stealing your thread, hope you understand since you are a comrade in arms...
T..J., I have a couple of terms I've used:
Morrisonitis (also Morrisonosis)- initially an inocuous disease that is transmitted on first contact with a Morrison bow; progressing to fever, sweats, agitation and withdrawal from said bow; culminating in the eventual purchase and shooting of said bow. This disease is not terminal; on the contrary it manifests itself in the later stages as euphoria and a stupid blissful grin while shooting said bow (see Morrisonitude below). No known cure but regular shooting and fondling of said bow will minimize initial negative symptoms. Ex. "His wife is gonna kill me...I've given him Morrisonitis."
Morrisonist - term used to describe anyone who is a "believer" in Morrison bows. "He's finally seen the light...now he's a Morrisonist."
Morrisoniac - term used to describe one in the later stages of Morrisonitis. Ex. "There's no hope now, he's definitely a Morrisoniac."
Morrisonoid - someone who is helplessly and hopelessly devoted to Morrison bows exclusively, to the point of denial that other bows even exist. Ex. "It's a shame for those other bowyers, JC is a complete Morrisonoid."
Morrisonerrific - descriptive term used to describe positive qualities of a Morrison bow; generally considered to be an expression of ultimate satisfaction. Ex. "Those snake skins are Morrisonerrific!"
Morrisonitude - state of perfect well being and peace with the universe caused by shooting a Morrison bow; typically symptomatic with glazed eyes, a silly grin and in extreme cases slurred speech and drool. Ex. "He was completely lost in Morrisonitude, not noticing his wife as she recited his honey-do list."
Morrisonism - Though not necessarily specific to Morrison bows only, a word or phrase associated with ALL Morrison bows. Ex. "This bow is super fast, stable, and church-mouse quiet."
Morrisonified (also Morrisonized and Morrisonated), - Description of the action performed by Morrison bows when they deliver the payload precisely on target. Ex. "Heart Shot! That buck just got Morrisonified/Morrisonized/Morrisonated."
Damn it...I just spit coffee all over my new keyboard.
J.C. we need to set a # to the "Morrisonoid" description. Like say 3 or more Morrisons in possession.
LOL, sorry to sidetrack your thread Danny, but you have to admit J.C.'s definitions are well thought out and genuine.
T.J.
I only have 2 so I haven't been "Morrisonoid" as of yet.
Awesome looking bow Danny, Congrats!
I've also been told that a person should not ever own more than one Morrison at a time. Reason is that you can only shoot one at a time and one will be sitting on a shelf somewhere. NO Morrison should be sitting on a shelf anywhere! :readit:
Very nice buddy.
I bet that Danny is a one bow guy!!!!!Like me
ROTFLMAO.
JC you just aint right,LOL.
Yes, I am a one bow guy, I shoot just one bow at a time,LOL.
David, I like that, Heri-um, yup that is me, gotta have a full rack of bows.LOL.
I know I have gone through a bunch of bows, most all of the high end ones at one time or another. I have 8 bows on the rack and they will all stay with me. I shoot them all well and they are tuned for the same arrow. I can pick any one of them and go hunting and have the confidence that I will hit what I aim at. I have been blessed with a good enough job that I have been able to try all the bows I wanted to try and keep the ones that fit me.
Feliciano, my friend, I will be putting up some pics and thoughts on the Bear A riser soon. It is a shooter and a keeper for sure.
Danny
Now begins the arduous process of selecting the "back-up" bow. You know if you love this one that much you will never want to be without it under any circumstances. Wonder what woods and skins would compliment number one?
Sure is a fine looker and has rekindled my desire to acquire the mini-14. I feel ashamed because I'm looking at my 16 inch like it just ain't good enough anymore.
Bobs the best, I just picked up a stunner myself.
All the best with it, Danny!
Nice bow Danny!! Now are you glad I did not take you up on your orginal offer?
I just picked mine up this past weekend. Mini 14" with "C" longbow limbs. I have not taken any photos yet, as I have been having too much fun shooting it to put it down to pictures.
James
Yes, James, I am very glad,LOL. By the way, still got the Dye, just could not sell it. Too, nice of a bow to sell cheaply so am keeping it.
Danny
Thats a beauty for sure Danny!
Congrats!
"Never say Never" :wavey: :coffee:
Congrats,I was almost sure that the bow would stay by Danny or not?LOL
I love that ILF riser and that one is exeptional. Looks like it is shooting well for you too.
LOL, you would have to bring this thread back up and make me eat my words,LOL. Thanks Gene,LOL.
But, hey I got a Sweet Schafer Silvertip prototype recurve in return so all is good. I am gonna love my "Lion" bow.
Danny
That IS a beautiful bow. I kept eyeballing it in the classifieds. About 5-10 lbs too much for me, so I found a Zebra Shawnee that'll be in my hands in a few days.....Sounds like ya'll made a good deal and everyone is happy. Gotta like that!
thats funny to bring up this thread. both enjoy your bow deal.
Sorry Danny !!! :wavey:
Very nice looking bow! Whats the biggest grip Bob has on his bows I hope to shoot a few at the expo I love the asbell on my widows.Pat
That is way too funny J C. Bob would love that, you better foward that to him. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
That is one pretty TD recurve. Personally, I love zebrawood, particularly in a TD riser.
Question here, maybe slightly off topic but still close enough, I think...
As that is an ILF riser, can you use any ILF limbs on it? Curious as I was catalog shopping recently and saw Lancaster Archery & 3R selling multiple ILF risers & limbs.
This might be slighlty sacrilegious, but if a person sunk the cash into a Morrison, it might be prudent to have a fairly inexpensive set of set of Samick ILF limbs on hand for emergency use?...
I knew it, even the one you had shipped here did not stay with you long when you got home. LOL You always find something you want more. Now that I am back consulting, maybe I will be able to buy that special bow I have been wanting. In a few months anyway. Gotta pay bills first.
O.K. Being a natural materials bow kinda guy, I don't usually read these threads. I know this has probably been asked many times, but what is an ILF?
Ok Danny tell me how you talked Bob out of those Broad band water snakes. The last time i talked to him i all but begged him for a pair. :banghead:
Donald
My additiction for these Morrison's all started with that "checkered grip" 62" 62# TD I got from you a year or so back. I still have it. However, I did send it back to Bob and have him modify the riser and limb butt's to the "Cheyenne Style" rounded limb butts. That is the most unique Morrison I have seen and the "Fastest" to boot! .... :knothead: :wavey:
Tom, ILF stands for International Limb Fitting.
Beautiful bow by the way.
Got this "Baby" in the mail today. :wavey: :jumper:
ND Terminator
Yes, this bow will take ILF limbs made by other manufactures. In fact, I recently got a pair of Hoyt G3 limb's as a back-up set. They fit very nicely and are within 1" in length and virtually the same draw weight. These are great preforming limbs and I may actually use them a lot on my up-coming HOC Black Bear hunt and save those beautiful "Skinned" Morrison limbs from being scratched.
