Title: Dad's bow strikes
Post by: Littlefeather on April 12, 2009, 08:16:00 PM
Well, After a long last 6 weeks I finally got out a few evenings just to hunt pigs myself. It only seemed fitting that I'd use Dad's bow since his passing. The bow shoots just as sweet as if I'd been shooting it for years.

I shot this little guy by moonlight two nights ago. I love chsing hogs by moonlight!
The arrow was one Hormoan made Dad last year. They say "Pop's" on each arrow. They also fly like darts! This was a perfect heart shot.

Hi Curtis, I think one of the ways we honor those that have passed, is to keep on living.

Keep on loving life and living it to the full.

Special hunt indeed.

Thanks Gang! Yep, it was surreal to hear the arrow hit it's mark through the dim lit night. He went a full 15 yards and it was over. There was no doubt that the old Bear rasorhead had done the job. No doubt in my mind that Dad was grinning just like he always did when I took a game animal with my bows. He got way more satisfaction in being there than he ever did killing game himself. He'd pull out the camera and make you feel like a movie star every time!

Ed Ashby just left here and he showed me a new way to sharpen a head on a wet stone. They get absolutely rasor sharp.

Bjorn and Bonebuster-Your broadheads are scheduled for the next launch. I'm headed to West Texas in less than two weeks. I plan on stacking hogs like cord wood out there. Thanks again for all the replies Gang!  :)   I appreciate it!     CK

HA! That one brings a smile to my face...no more fitting use for a fine bow and arrow than used in memory of it's original owner. Thanks for the pic Curtis, heart warming to say the least.
