For the guys who don't frequent the bench....
We put one together for my bro and huntin buddy,John.
Coco riser with 2 .050" black glass strips in a canine, cept it ended up bein a tusk cause we had to shave the limbs a little narrow due to a slippage prob. Also caused us to make it a 62" bow to get weight he wanted. Came out 50# at 27",stained curly maple limbs, coco riser with black glass accents, he did the shaping to suit himself. I think it looks really good(there is a couple dry spots in finish still)

That is a nice looking bow. I like the stained Maple.

Kenny I know you got the birds! My grandpa lives south of ya and regularly sends me pics of birds in his back yard, usually flocks of 20- 50 or more  Go ahead and start that bow, 1 for deer, one for turkey, one for rabbit, one for the sqs,... oh ya, one for 3-d, one for hogs,... and we aint even started on the out of state list!!! ;)
Aw yes Kenny nice job. BTW finally putting the glue and glass I got from you into the shape of a bow for my grand daughter. She's going to help me with it this afternoon. Thanks for helping me spend quality time with her.
Nice
I've changed my mind about changing the handle radius Kenny, that will do just fine. Not sure what I was thinking.. toying with a masters design pfffff! I can't wait to get started on mine!
Greg, our birds are in short supply, get 50 miles in any direction and you start seein em. Rain, hail, bobcats? Don't know, but will be glad when they cycle back up in population!
Thanks,everyone!
Jim, master??? pfffft

Thanks,guys!!
Ya that is sharp lookin'
What a great project for Brothers to work on. Sure wish my Bro had more interest in trad gear but being a police officer, he's more into things that go boom. Maybe down the road.
Did your Brother use a walnut stain on the limb veneers? Very cool looking. Also love the look of the belly glass and core running into the riser. Excellent!
Good luck with the turkeys.
Hey Mike,
We used some lockwood dye that I bought from Binghams about 2 years ago. Silver grey first, then walnut.
Mixed with hot water and brushed on,then blotted off with a clean cloth.
We had to lay them under a board with weight to keep em flat, then put in the hotbox on low heat to dry.
Wow Kenny that's an incredible bow! I have to get caught up on a few things then I will humbly ask you for some more help . Best of luck with your turkeys , our season is in now but birds here are very scarce . At least where I've been looking . Be well , Fred
wheee-wheeeuuuu!
