Title: Samick SKB 50
Post by: oberon on April 11, 2009, 03:08:00 PM
Anyone here have any thoughts on the Samick SKB 50 Korean bow?  Thinking of getting one to shoot while I wait for My Saluki hornbow

I have had one and have another on order. It is a well made bow. I like it due to its minimalism.

I like the looks of them in the catalog, but have never seen or shot one yet.  I was looking for a used 50-pounder to no avail when a used Elk Ridge Archery Pilgrim KHB (for Korean Horse Bow) came along and I bought that one instead. 56" and 50#@28 but it does have a small shelf making it a right-handed bow. Western red cedar limbs and a sassafrass riser.  I ended up wrapping the grip with a roughout leather strip myself because the grip was hurting my ring finger when I used the 2-finger type grip.  I'd still buy a Samick SKB if I found a used one at a good price.

The SKB 50 is cheaper new than many used bows.

o., two problems; the new bow hasn't arrived and no camera.
