I just received a #40 Wing Swift Wing 66" recurve.Probably early 70"s vintage) It is in terrific condition and seems to shoot very well. I shot soom Beman mfx classic 500's with 245grains on the front. I know these are too stiff. Anyone have any suggestions for what to try? I was thinking perhaps 1916 aluminums?
Thanks for your help.

1816s...or .600 spine carbons....or 40-45 woodies.
What length were you thinking the 1916s would be cut?
That would be my first arrow to try.(but mine are long) Mine are 30 1/4" and have 125 gr. points. I pull 29" and shoot some longbows around that weight. One recurve(Zipper) likes 2016s , same other stats.
I've shot 1916's with 125's out of my #45 red wing hunter. They were darts.
I would go with the 1816.
I'd do the 1816 too. Have a 62" 40# Wing Falcon and it shoots best with those or carbons over 500 spine. Those bows are not center shot.
