Does anyone shoot different bow weight depending on the game ur hunting. And what about shooting 3D do ya lighten up your weight....I can see the benifit...but it might cause bad habits when ya move back up...just curious, there is no right answer, I need all the help this fatboy can get...God bless all of ya...marco
I do.
I shoot the same weight
i shoot the same weight for all hunts and 3d
same weight
:campfire:
Same weight to hunt and at the range. :archer:
i shoot the same weight for all hunts and 3d
I often shoot different weights for different things. Most times I am shooting different bows for different things as well.
I shoot a 600g arrow for everything.
I drop down for small game, sometimes.
Generally though I stick with my regular bow because a hog could show up and they are open year round here in Florida.
How are ya Mark?......About all I hunt is small game, deer, and hogs. I shoot bows from 50#'s up to 65#'s.....I shoot a lot of different bows, but I don't change bows for the type of game I'm hunting....It just depends on what I choose to shoot on that particular hunt.

Hey buddy , been shooting yet??? I lighten up on those 30 target 3D shoots , all that up and down and walkin takes too much out of me... :)
same weight. All my bows draw 51 to 54lbs.
Yep. 80# (83# at my draw) Silvertip on a little sow up to a big bull camel.
I shoot different weights for different game. Since i have a number of all different kinds of bows, I like to let em perform as they were ment to; I feel like I should honor em for what they are, and use em for their intended purpose, instead of having them languish on their racks on the wall as keepsakes. i even occasionally shoot my bows made and signed by Glenn St.Charles and Bill Stewert, two of the finest bowyers in the Northwest. sourowl
Same for most everything.
Same bow weight and same arrow weight... Well, kinda. All (lucky me) my bows are 47-50# at my draw of 26". Arrows average 495-525 grains. I think it's a good idea to keep things almost the same. But that's just me....... ;)
... mike ...
Same weight for all.

62# Shrew for everything, it happens to be the only t/d I have , just easier to transport.
Same weight and same arrows for everything. Only have 2 bows and both are same weight and tune with same arrows.
Different weights, always use my heavy bows for elk, and early bow season. Once it gets cold its hard to sit for hours and shoot 60-65#s for me so I'll drop to mid 50's.
yup
Yes of course. It all just helps me get really good/"beware of the man with one bow" kind of thing.
I have a 2-3 lb difference between my go-to LB and recurve but due to the dynamics of each they both end up with the same point of aim. This was not intentional, just a lucky coincidence.
I have bows ranging from 35-55 lbs but for most of my shooting I tend to stick with the same poundage give or take a pound or two.
Same bow same weight same everything. Change usually makes me take a step back from where I was. Ed
Same weight for everything, same arrow too, AD trad lites w/260gr up front.
I shoot the same bow, so of course the same weight. 54#s at my draw!! Shawn
i just recently moved up in draw weight from 45# to 70#@ 28" draw . i really cant wait for hunting season now. ive seen how hard thes arrows penetrate my target , and im very curious on what this set up will do on live game
yes generally 57 # everything from Zebra to Javalina.
Yep, either Ferguson Patriot, or one of 3 homemade R/D Bamboo Backed Osage all the same - 64" ntn, 73# @ 28". Have other weight bows, but that is what I shoot best.
Mike
Super Shrew 56@27", Talon Longbow pulls 57@27" and Checkmate Hunter recurve 55@27". The Talon requires lighter spined arrows. 50-55 cedars or 2018s.
:wavey:
yep
Yup, same weight for me as well, which is approx 53#'s
same weight same bow! but my collection of bows is getting bigger and i feel bad not shooting them all
Same weight and usually the same bow. Grant
I generally shoot the same bow for all hunting and for 3D. 65# HH Wesley Special with cedar arrows.
Yes Same set up for everything. But I think shooting at rabbits or stumps or carp is practice time for Elk whitetails and bears.
Joe
I have too many bows to be able to only shoot one weight, but most of them are 50 to 60 pounds with a few in the 40's and a few in the 60's and low 70's.
Allan
you betcha!
same here.
Same here, 54#@29 Wes Wallace Mentor t/d, but have a one piece coming in a couple of weeks-also a Wallace. Same weight.
Same weight for all shooting.
sure do!
same weight
