Title: Big Jim
Post by: NightHawk on April 07, 2009, 12:08:00 AM
Met Jim this last weekend at the Kentucky Klssic. First thing I noticed was, well, Jim is a BIG man. I shook hands with him and it was like putting my hand in a catchers mitt. Did I mention the man is BIG, like a Grizzley bear ;-)
Jim is the guy that bought Sipsey River, and he is one heck of a guy to boot. He treated me like I had known him forever and helped me pick out a dozen carbon shafts. The man has the patience of a saint as when it comes to carbon arrows, I know very little, as I've shot woodies for over twenty years. If you see Big Jim at a shoot near you be sure to meet him, as he's one of archeries finest. He earned my buisness with his friendlieness and knowlege.  :notworthy:    :notworthy:

One of my friends purchased a bow from Big Jim and I bought some arrow shafts for bareshafting.Looking over some of the bows that Big Jim had for sale I noticed he had a couple of Widows for sale that were made for him. One was 78 pounds pull and and the other was 90 pounds pull.I dont think I could string such a bow much less shoot it.Big Jim was very nice and helpful by the way and also had some nice merchandise and bows for sale.

Yea, I met Big Jim at Kentucky Klassic. I think Spisey River is in good hands. Jim and his wife are great people.

Your right he is a big Man! I'm 6'2" and 260lb and he dwarfed me..LOL..But man what a great guy to talk with. Talking to him and his wife were like talking to old friends, and builds one fine bow to boot and does all his own leather work.

Yep I do believe Sipsey is in fine hands (Big Hands)

I wish I could make the trip down to his shoot! I say it will be a blast.

Rob..

Thanks for all the praise. I would never have realized I was so big except everyone keeps telling me so, LOL. I guess they must be right. No wonder I can't find boots to fit.
You know what else I find funny about being big? Little munchkins like John from the "old" and I mean "OLD" Sipsey find great pleasure in picking on us big guys. Its all I can do to keep from accidentaly stepping on him. I do my best, but he keeps gettin underfoot like a little kid (an old Kid). Oh well, when he comes here to shoot, I'll show him who's boss. He's been practicing until his fingers bleed since he beat me last time. (blind hog/acorn)
Shoot straight and often, BigJim

I am glad you like your bow. I'm not surprised it shoots well. I sight in every one before I let them go out.

It always works out in the end. They fix trucks everyday somewhere.

Thanks, BigJim

You better be ready Big Jim. Dynamite comes in small packages!

If you think a small package of dynamite is bad, just think what a big package of dynamite can do! It might even fix my truck, or a little old man with bad knees.
No way you can shoot that good again. Besides, I have home court advantage and I got your number.
